Just wanted to say that that incredible RAE test pilot, Eric Brown, says that he thinks the ‘262 was the most formidible aircraft of world war two- and, as he flew just about ALL of them, he is a position to know!!
Excellent pics! haven’t seen a P-2 for a while- sounds quite nice for a trainer!
I read somewhere that ACE got into trouble for modifying the Allison engine for the new D-9’s- hope thats been resolved

slightly off topic i know, but how on Earth did all the Hornets get scrapped??- you’d think that SOMEONE would’ve thought ‘this is a beautiful aeroplane, we should keep one!!’ (unless i’m the only one who thinks it was beautiful!!)
http://www.mustangsmustangs.com/p-51/survivors/pages/44-13954.shtml – does this help at all?- not recent, but some details!
i read somwhere about another mark 1 being restored/built(?) at Historic Flying, so fingers crossed!

Thanks for the reply, and sorry if you were offended-i did not mean to offend anyone- i must’ve missed that very unfortunate piece of news very sorry- condolences to all concerned- i did email the site some months ago- but received no reply, and also saw the ‘Imperial Airways’ sales team at Old Warden a few years ago but have not seen them since- this is why my suspicions grew
Thanks, -lovely to see her out and about again- personally i’d like to see her painted in 19 squadron colours as the first spitfire delivered to an RAF fighter squadron- but, for some reason, nobody has asked for my opinion! 😀
