Just wanted to say that that incredible RAE test pilot, Eric Brown, says that he thinks the ‘262 was the most formidible aircraft of world war two- and, as he flew just about ALL of them, he is a position to know!!

I read somewhere that ACE got into trouble for modifying the Allison engine for the new D-9’s- hope thats been resolved

slightly off topic i know, but how on Earth did all the Hornets get scrapped??- you’d think that SOMEONE would’ve thought ‘this is a beautiful aeroplane, we should keep one!!’ (unless i’m the only one who thinks it was beautiful!!)

i read somwhere about another mark 1 being restored/built(?) at Historic Flying, so fingers crossed!

I do get fed up with documentaries in this country claiming that Britain invented just about everything- but i suspect similar things happen in other countries too!

Thanks, -lovely to see her out and about again- personally i’d like to see her painted in 19 squadron colours as the first spitfire delivered to an RAF fighter squadron- but, for some reason, nobody has asked for my opinion! 😀
