Nothing to do with it being a warbird – just that its new build, and the CAA have to be convinced that it has been built to the same standards as the original
Strange, i always thought plane was an an accepted abbreviation of Aeroplane….;)
Didn’t they run the engines of the ME-410 AND FW-190 when they were at Cosford?- i don’t know where the ‘410 is now, but remember seeing the ‘190 at hendon a few years ago (obviously silent!!) – but i can’t bring myself to go there anymore knowing that ‘Black 6’ was interned there and is quite capable of flight but won’t ever get off the ground again even though there was a ‘109 there already

Very best of luck- although it does look like a bit of a gamble!! (i hate myself for that!!)
Seafire
Thanks mark V!
cold war memorial flight
personally i’d love to see a B-36 and a Bear followed closely by a B-58/TU22 Blinder combination in a flying display (but then, i’d quite like a steamy relationship with Kelly Brook- just as likely, i suppose!!!)
Seafire
Fair enough, Yak 11 fan!- to be honest, thought i’d missed something on the site!! (not entirely confident with the web -yet???!)- thanks for the info, anyway!:)
SEAFIRE
Yes, thats the one- thanks for the Hardwick warbirds site link too, Yak-11 fan, not sure of the relevance, but always admired Mr Hammonds skill, anyway!!- shame there’s nothing about his current P-51D project though!:)
SEAFIRE
So, it was rebuilt, but they got it wrong???
Seafire PP972
Any idea how long ago, David?
Meteor F-3
I have a 1/32 scale Gloster Meteor model made of metal that was reputedly on the OC’s desk at Cranfield- would LOVE to know if its worth anything- very scratched and looking sorry for itself though
Pagan, i am new to this forum so please forgive me if there you have received a personal reply about your FW-190 query already, but it belongs to the American collector Tom Blair and is one of the new ones being built by Flug Werk in Germany. Because we don’t have an ‘experimental’ category in this country, its not allowed to fly here, but the last i heard Mr Blairs engineers were going to undertake an ‘engineering audit’ (whatever that is!!!) to see if the CAA will allow it to be flown- if not it will be on its way to America (fingers crossed, they will!!)
More Seafire news please!!
There’s a nice picture of Seafire 111 PP972 on the Vintage Fabrics website (with no date) apparently completed and having its engine run up- i seem to remember it was/is? with Wizzard Investments- does anyone out there know if it flew- or was it put straight into storage?- what a waste if thats the case! (hey, maybe i have a future in poetry!)
Biggles Biplane
Thanks for this-i had no idea they had a website!- look forward to seeing her around!:)
Why has nobody mentioned plasma technology ffor the SU-35 – its apparently transferable to ANY aircraft- and is set to make RCS irrelevant!!
