Why not email them? It’s a really good idea!
Belated Happy Birthday Capt. Brown. What a wonderful man and an aviation treasure.
Seconded!
A Shackled is really going to fly again??
PH’s Stieglitz is now in the US, owned by Jerry Yagen. As far as I know it was never sold to a German collection. There are quite some flying in Germany though
Oops! Must’ve got confused with his Bestmann
Peter Holloway had one at Old Warden until sold to a German collection. It might be worth firing off an email to the collection. He still has his Storch there
flying legends canx and replaced by buried legends
This had me laughing! Thanks!
That makes sense as I heard it had been bought by Paul Allen for his collection.
I think he is going to have it converted to jumos
Thanks, folks! Should’ve realised it wouldn’t be that easy!
The reason for the question was that I read an article about Maurice Hammond some time ago in which he said that the Packard engine had half the number of bolts around the supercharger casing and I just wondered if they did some other things that may (or may not!) have saved weight
Regards
Dave
Just wanted to wish my best wishes to you all. And let’s hope for a crash-free 2013
Maurice Hammond.might be able to help
Get it flying in 14 months? That would be brilliant!
The final decision is not made in this second. The G.59 fuselage is back in the shop. We will see what is going on, of course its Jerry´s decision 😉
Thanks for the reply, Matthias, and, once again, thank you very much for your wonderful contribution to the forum and all the very best to you and yours and everyone else at Meier Motors for Christmas and the new year
Wow, what’s the engine. Certainly sounded like a Mustang to me.
It was! (according to G-INFO)
According to G-INFO it’s registered to a Daniel Brem-Wilson of Westerham, Kent (near Biggin) and it has a “no fly notification” dated February 2011. Hope this helps
Hi, Matthias. Thanks again for your fantastic updates!
Isn’t the G59 being rebuilt as a G55 Centauro fighter?
