Wonder if there is any particular reason why all the airworthy -1 Corsairs are Goodyear built airframes?
Might be the same reason that most of the surviving B-17s were built at the same factory as well. Corrosion protection?
He gets paid to bury things? Something anyone can do? I love the way these ‘artists’ milk the money out of stupid rich people!
Will Hawker Restorations be able to help?
I would apply in a heartbeat if I had the skills.
R4360 would be good!
I’m astounded that anyone can find fault in people like Guy Black who spend countless hours researching and collecting parts for (mostly) obscure types before they can even start the process of rebuilding these wonderful machines.
From a personal point of view, I never imagined that I would ever see what I regard as one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built (the Hawker Fury) Grace the skies-and thanks to Mr Black and others like him I can, and for that alone, I am eternally grateful.
I cannot wait to see the DH-9 restoration/reproduction/ who-the hell-cares fly and only hope that the Puma engine is more reliable than it’s reputation suggests!
Just send me $200m, K5054NZ and I’ll see what I can do!
Wouldn’t it be just awful if some bean counters came in with no knowledge of aircraft and got the Condor flying by mistake!??
They used to fly over our house all the time-so quiet! I managed to get a snap (nobody would elevate it to the status of ‘photograph!’) Of its first flight-with a ‘125 flying chase.
I dont like to bother those people. They’re very likely inundated with queries and there are some on here who are very often ‘in the know’ about such things.
Ah yes, the British bias on the forum. Where people would prefer to talk about the HATCHES on British aircraft than whole foreign types!
Why didn’t they check the Sea Hurricane’s C of G before they flew it?
I’m not sure but the latest tempest video feels exactly the same as one i watched of his from.a few years ago?
I could be wrong though!
Unfortunately, I don’t think u are.
It would be nice to see one in the markings of one of those colourful formation monitoring aircraft
Such a shame that the pilot didn’t live to go for a last ride in her
