Geography is in favour of the one who flies daily for decades over the hypothetical battlefield of the Aegean and knows it better than anyone else since its his home. Not to the one has build several forward bases and bought tankers in order to overcome the “geography” disadvantage.
Training is in favour of the one who performs better on a daily basis during thousands of scrambles and interceptions, and who is not arrogant enough to
think that numbers alone can “win” anything, if training is not done to the extreme, as was the case with the M2K mid air collision during DACT 2 weeks ago. Greek pilots train the way they will fight 24/7 and not only on NATO exercises.
Equipment is in favour of the one who not only has the same assets as his oponnent, but also other assets that his oponnent does not have a clear picture about and only knows what you want to show him.
Again we have 30 years of interceptions in order to understand who is capable of what.
What are not hypothetical are the thousands of engagements each year between Greek and Turkish fighters. This is not theory, its reality, as was 1974, 1987 and 1996…
Logic says that common sense will prevail and war will not brake out, this however is not something anyone can guarantee…
Hey Rush, eeehhh I meant Distiller! 😉
The Tiger has no FMS and needs hard cash for payments…

MENL is notorious for posting “news” items about 15 days or more later than the time the story run…

Philipp, “Operation IPHITOS” is the codename for the Olympic Security operations.
Iphitos ( also written Iphitus) was the king of Elis that refounded the Olympic Games in 884bC.
Arthur, the decision is to keep all M2K’s in Tanagra in 2 Squadrons and not to create a 3rd one.
Greek Army Aviation is under the command of teh Greek Army General Staff and NOT of the PA. 353 Mira Orions are under the command of the Hellenic Navy’s Fleet HQ. The replacement of the top brass has to do with political reasons and this is usual for countries were the politicians give orders to the military and not the other way arond…
A major shake up in the ranks of all branches is underway now with most formation CO’s on their way out…
Pegasus, do you happen to have a photograph of the “Ajax” “fin art” on 71760?
15 new bulits + 3 options = 18
10 upgraded from EGM standard + 5 options = 15
15+18=33 Mirage 2000-5 MkII’s which leaves 17 EGM/BGM’s.

I know, I know, its Verykokos but this time he’s correct…
2 vs.2, the wing of one Mirage was torn away and the pilot ejected safely and was picked up. The other Mirage pilot managed to land his plane despite having lost most of the fin and rudder that were also torn off during impact…
Take a look here

Variation on a theme
It wears a fez and a veil, and the logo says “Mehmecikbusters” for obvious self explanatory reasons since this is the original original Lawn Dart killer …
The photo Copyright belongs to Nick Karatzides and it was taken at 113PM ramp in Macedonia during a 343/332 DACT Ierax scenario and it is a very rare nose art and it was worn by an M2K that had nothing against Phantoms Jonesy…
