A spare parts pool (engines, radar, Phoenix etc) would be more useful… Not very likely to happen though…

Going to a French School, he was one of the first ( and my favourite ) French 20th century writers I was taught to read…
Its good we finally found out what hapenned to him, and the ‘mystique’ will not fade away…
The Hinds were purchased but their presence was kept secret until some leaks started when they were already in Cyprus and had started undergoing training to become operational…
They arrived sometime in late 2001…
The roundel and Cyprus flag are the markings of the Cyprus National Guard.
Considering the current negociations to resolve the Cyprus problem, many people may find this post less than amusing I;m afraid…
Menelae, you need the black & white drawings, or colour profiles?
Well, according to statements by the new Greek MoD, they will start to be retired sooner than excpected…

Assuming of course that the plans for 90 Typhoons announced 3 years ago, will go ahead, they will take up the air defence role from the M2K’s and F-16’s and this will ‘release’ the older F-16’s currently in service, for the a-g role. I had the opportunity to watch several times the Blue Angels over the Bay Area and I must say it was probably the best aerobatic display I’ve seen from fighter jets… Having driven thousands of times over the Golden Gate, iirc the most common flyover/under I saw was done by Coast Guard S-70’s and Dauphins, assuming of course there was not much fog around…
Also if you are around do not forget to visit the USS Hornet at Alameda.
Yes Phantom, the radomes are all grey without the black tip, so they are PI2000/AUP’s. The middle one has a black radome tip, so its a non upgraded one ( yet).
Also all you Phantom Phreaks should check out the ACIG Journal Database and the Phantoms Phorever articles 😉

Since this Phantom thread was not started by Phantom II, I think that mat is in violation of copyright, unless of course he can produce evidence that Phantom II authorised it… 😀
