The last S-70B Aegean Hawk (PN-59) has arrived

…as did the last Standard frigate (Nikeforos Fokas)
Don’t worry folks, the forum is going to be online again pretty soon… :dev2:
The article was online in ACIG.org since the new year and by the middle of January has been circulating via e mails…

The HAWK was carried in trials, I don’t think it ever became operational. The compromised F-14/Phoenix story is an urban (or rather a political) myth…
Wanshan I think you will find this interesting:

Surprisingly enough after dozens of crashes, this forum;s archives still contain some interesting threads…
The first Greek F-16’s were delivered in December 1988 – January 1989 and from what I know the camouflage was chosen by HAF pilots in the US, when they saw the F-16N’s… What is certain is that when they came to Greece they already were painted in the Ghost scheme by GD…
Well, the Ghost scheme was chosen by Greek pilots when they saw it on USN F-16N’s…

Yankee Doodle Floppy Disk, this is Foxtrot Zulu Milkshake…
Actually the best ‘aviation movie’ I’ve seen was “Patrouille de France” in La Geode(IIRC?), a planetarium style cinema in Paris that offered a wide view indeed!
You know, I’ve personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I’ve never landed a plane in my life.
Admiral ‘Tug’ Benson, (“Hot Shots!”)
The Navy(ex embargoed PAF) F-16’s look pretty good!

Actually this last summer in a certain airport near Athens, several civilian registered, multi “bumped” Beechcrafts and Jetrangers were based (in daytime always inside the Hangar)…
Now this post will self destruct… :diablo:
F/RF-4E’s used the Egypt 1 that later became Hill grey II.

A good summary of US colours can be read here:

WB Puffy!!! Long time no see…;)
The F-16 in some older versions is an F-4, and the KC-135 sometimes is mentioned as a C-141 as this joke is going around since decades… In another version of it the Multi engined platform pilot responds: “I just went back to the lav and took my morning relief!”
Here’s another one:
A Huey Cobra practicing autorotations during a military night training exercise had a problem and landed on the tail rotor, separating the tail boom. Fortunately, it wound up on its skids, sliding down the runway doing 360s in a brilliant shower of sparks. As the Cobra passed the tower, the following exchange was overheard:
Tower: Sir, do you need any assistance?
Cobra: I don’t know, tower. We ain’t done crashin’ yet!
The Grey-Green scheme was introduced around 1963 and replaced the bare metal look that was until then the norm… In 1972 the “Vietnam” style scheme replaced theGreen-Grey scheme on most NATO Air Forces, although there were several exceptions…

Fastest subsonic airliner the Coronado?
Supersonic amphibian XF2Y-1 Sea Dart?
Come on guys, where are you??? Its a pitty that everybody goes to stupid threads about subjects covered already in dozens of other threads, and that few people are interested in learning more about aviation…
