I can assure every body that it was “Tugboat” you can take that as absolutly correct.
There was a quote at the time of filming, I think from Hoof or maybe Mark (altho now I’ve said that it will probably turn out to be Ray..) something along the lines of either “not many other people out dropping bombs from P51’s today” or “we’re probably the last pilots to drop bombs from Mustangs”
That was most deffinately HOOF
[QUOTE=Franck66;1079840]One of the Mustang use in Emoire of the Sun was owned by Jean Salis, this one
G-PSID ex of Doug Arnold “Widowmaker” bought by SG used in the film then sold on to Jean Salis.
wouldn#t it be safer to keep your eyes on the road
Where is the Mystere going?

Thanks for the link blurrkup !
not more bloody american trash haulers
Heres a rumour for legends.
That we will have………….
No moaning punters about what TFC does, did, did’nt do, sold, bought or failed to produce for the show.
This thread caused many a chuckle at work today.
Way too early for this ‘rumours’ rubbish to start.
BWB it wouldn’t be LEGENDS without moaning punters would it? you could allways bee bee them :dev2: :dev2: 🙂
Anyone would think that Legends is the only airshow in the UK, and that the historic aviation world rotates around it.
It does and the best thing about it yep no freaking parrafin burners I heard the flying pig display team will be there unless the organisers have been telling us porkies.:) 🙂

[QUOTE=bentwingbomber;1052228]Both the p 40 and TF have flown, the tigercat is mid atlantic on an ice pack taking on fuel just like the Firefox(which will be at legends).
And the two crew members for the Tigercat are E Presley and L Lucan and they have just taken off from the deck of the Titanic as it never sank it was all a massive publicity stunt
Still beats me how the Yanks still managed to hit the same iceberg, lets face it they knew the damm thing was there. But there that’s American movies for you.
Just goes to show that you can’t beleive everything you read!! 😉
On this forum? your’e damm right there
I arrived at the in-laws minutes after it had been on and missed it.
I know it was a charity event, but in view of the awful weather down here yesterday, I’m surprised that both a Spitfire and Charlie Brown were risked for such a stunt, I nearly got blown over and drowned just taking the dogs for a walk.
Car down the hard, Spit taking off on the grass hardly a stunt
Good news for sure! Way to go to all involved!

Crikey however many times is that now, should have been done properly in the first instance 🙂
Colour scheme direct from factory in the wheel bays and all interieor surfaces would have been yellow chromate primer, the cockpit obviously would have been black. any dark green colour you might see internally would mean the a/c had been modded/ repaired at a base servicing unit. I believe that the move from exterior matt finish to gloss was for ease of fresh water washing after flights over the sea.
Can we have a re-run of an airshow that Johnnie Johnson organised at Copenhagen airport in July 1945. A small number of Blohm & Voss BV138C aircraft were pulled out at Oresund, outside Copenhagen airport, and attacked by Typhoons, Tempests, Mosquitos and Spitfires armed with cannons and rockets. Now that really was an airshow.
The remains of one of the BV138C is an exhibit at the Danish Aviation Museum.
Let your fantasy roll. What would your target be?
would suit you wouldn’t it as you were probably there 🙂 🙂 🙂
