Take yourself off to legends if you want. Then, and this is important, form your own opinion of the show don’t just take on-board the opinions of others. They may know the colour of socks any particular pilot is wearing when zooming in his Spit-tang or whatever, but your own impressions are what counts in the long run.

If by some chance you happen to get to Waddo next year come across to the Canberra Assoc flight line enclosure, I’ll let you in and we’ll make you welcome. You can mingle with and talk informally to blokes who actually flew with the RAF in the days we had a proper air force – Cans, Vulcs, Shacks, Victors, Lightnings, Hunters, Buccs, etc. You may just get more than you bargin for though as they’re not easy to shut-up when in the “There I was . . ” mode!!

    .

Lightenings Vulcs Hunters Buccs = Real Airforce your avin a larff arn’t you

Seems like a good 2 day IWM show, football was good on Sat and the Sea side was pretty good today also it didn’t cost me anything near as much as it cost you lot Ah well such is life ehh 🙂 🙂 Robbo i’ll lend you some as you would have to point out to Avros Finest what side cutters are, that’s even if he could manage a technical task like unlocking his toolbox 😀 😀 😀

PS Avros Finest wer’e still 3rd in the League

You might see it as sneering, pompous and belitttling.

I merely see it as a truism

    There’s an old saying

“It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and prove it.” That was the import of my posting.

I have reviewed the post on the basis of your mentioning it. I see nothing I would change.

Feel free to complain to the webmaster.

    Moggy

Bit of a daft statement as you are not in possesion of the facts and yes you have made yourself look a fool as you were implying about Avros Finest who has may I add forgotten more about the old warbird scene than you are likely to know so please please don’t go inferring a person is a fool as it goes against so called forum code of conduct or doesn’t that apply to moderators

Not long and not much last time i drove a tractor.

Well find a tractor and get going then perhaps the engineers have better things to do than pamper to the wishes of people whose only purpose in life seems to be to moan about why aircraft can’t be put in this position or that position just for the sake of a photo.

“For some comercial Photograpy” Surely that means you or whoever were asking for a TFC spitfire for a photo shoot to promote a comercial product, anyway £1000 sounds very cheap to me. Or do people expect something for nothing and you might just find that Avros finest knows just a bit more than you think in fact a lot more than you think. Also how much time and effort do you think it takes anybody to move aircraft around just so you happy snappers can take piccies of your choice

    😀

The Wheatsheaf (heathen!) seems to be nicer but atmosphere goes to the Whittlesford Red Lion simply because it has Forum History in it. I cant imagine Drinking anywhere else with forumites at Duxford.

Who said owt about drinking with forumites 😀 😀 but if I’m offered a drink then I’ll slum it 😀 😀 😀

    The Plough—– Duxford
    Wheatsheaf—– Duxford
    Barlycorn—— Duxford
    Red Lion—– Hinxton
    Red Lion—– Ickleton
    Red Lion—– Whittlesford
    Tickle arms— Whittlesford
    Bees in the Wall Whittlesford

Red Lion at Whittlesford is basically a Hotel selling pub food if you have the means then there are far better pubs just as near selling equally if not far better food. Lots of better pubs about a mile farther on.
