[QUOTE=Avro’s Finest]With all due respect. After 20+ years in the industry, I can say hand on heart that was a prime example of a loss of control and extreme arrogance on the part of the pilot by continuing with the display. If it had happened over here, he would have been pulled from the display – no question. He lost control, and got away with it. End of story. The black smoke is caused by a rich mixture at high RPM to prevent detonation, Black 6 did it, the DB engined 109 the Hanna’s operated did it. It’s the nature of the engine.[/QU

Absolutely agree with Avros finest on this, purely pilot error and he was very fortunate to get away with it.

Why has this thread about the Duxford Hawk 75 descended into a discussion about P40’s? Oh and by the way it’s not the Duxford Hawk as I was under the impression it belonged to TFC

I do really think that is bad form as I don’t believe any body at TFC would in the slightest way get pissed off with anybody who might be from this jolly little knowlegable forum well no deffinately not hush my mouth and suck my thumb etc etc can’t blame them really if they did so lets just wait and see eh. 🙂 🙂

If they are unloading crates outside TFC, I hope that Rastacat is at a safe distance.

If they hit the high winged thinggy then it might improve its’ looks (piece of junk nearly as bad as p51s’) 🙂

Could it not be the Mk19 Spitfire for France?

I would have thought a Mk19 spitfire for France would have gone to France

It is in the program of LFA. I only hope the plane get’s ready in time. I heard reports that it would be ready in time for an airshow in the UK in july. But I prefer a debut at LFA. It is a french fighter which should make it’s debut ‘at home’.

Wil it be there or not? That is the question! 😉

    Stieglitz

I thought Curtis built the Hawk an American company?

I will say this again jets should have their engines removed and stuck on runway de-icers and whats left should be melted down and used for something useful like pots and pans.
