They all appear to be flying below the conflict zone, which is where MH17 was scheduled to fly.

Simple graphics, even that you don’t understand??

That graphic does NOT show the flightpath, it shows the frequency of said airlines flying through that airspace in the past week before the incident!!!!

Those fighter escorts are simply an assumption.

At the time there is at least 4 other airliner flying near to the mh17, including an air india dreamliner and a singaporean airlines flight.

    S. Korea opts for double-engine platform for indigenous fighters

    2014/07/18

Under the so-called KFX program for developing and producing the home-built fighter jets, South Korea seeks to deploy some 120 fighters of F-16 class to replace its aging fleets of F-4s and F-5s.

it is very strange move by south korea to develop a totally new plane in the same class of the F-35 when it could develop a new affordable lightweight stealthy “gripen/jf-17” that would have a big export potential.

Also interesting thought, what do you so with 100 spare Mirage 3/5 ROSE planes? Scrap them all?

    Argentina, private aggressor service companies?

those are not chaffs but burning items from a plane that disintegrated at 33000 ft. As a person who is from a country that is the victim of mindless killing of innocent people that has nothing to do with the ukraine-russia crissis, i find it extremely appalling at some forummers attempt of disinformation.

and suddenly my respect for some people here that i usually follow with great interest suddenly goes out of the window.

RIP and condolences to all the families of those that has perished in this tragedy…

PS. The malaysian team is already in ukraine. i really hope that they would be given full access of the crash site

Few weeks ago reported the capture of the militia of these systems. Now they are refurbished, manned and administered into operation. So it was proudly announced that the rebel’s “BUK” system downed a ukranian An-26 on 14th july. Suddenly now after the MH17 incident, miraculously the rebels don’t have the “BUK”/it is not in operational state??

Totally rewiring an aircraft is not a unique or extremely difficult thing to do as aircraft going through major overhauls normally goes through something similar. Surely that is more cheaper than building totally new airframes. USA does the same (and more) when resetting apaches and chinooks. It seems like alot of people are just repeating the “official” eurofighter quotes and takes that as the only possible thing that can be done (eurofighter consortium is not in a business of saving the taxpayers money, it is in a business to spend as much of it as it possibly can)

So it seems that all this “noo T1s would not be feasibly upgradeable to T2 standards” is basically a ploy to seek their gov’ts to buy more T3 aircrafts and keep their factory’s open…

Yes china has quickly learned that using coast guard ships in contested waters (senkaku, spratlys and the parcels) while other nations response with naval ships, although even smaller, will make those responding to the chinese coast guard ships to seem like they are using “excessive force” while china can continue to bully them while looking innocent… With those huge “cruiser” size ships, they can practically stay in those contested waters indefinitely, strengthening their territorial claims.
