If what Batman says is correct, then the TSR2 was going to be a dog and in that case the correct decisions were made, why throw good money after bad?
The question is if testing on the TSR2 had continued, what would have been learn’t that could not be learn’t from other better aeroplanes?

Cockpit shape reminds me of an Aero 45/145 (just slightly)

If its not a rude question, how much fuel do you burn during your taxi runs?
cheers
How dare you say such a thing? 🙁
What’s a Proctor? :diablo:
If you are talking about a Mk4/5 Proctor – another ugly aeroplane, however a Mk1-3 quite sweet.

The Nimrod is a real ugly looking aeroplane. Bit like a British Bulldog, ugly around the face region.

You can understand them charging for MG’s (oh so common!) but if they were Australian Muscle Cars like the Ford Falcon GTHO, then I would get upset.
But more seriously, its an airshow, not a motor car show. Here in Brisbane, Australia at Archerfield they once had a “Wings and Wheels” show featuring aeroplanes and cars. Maybe that is what should happen over in England – get the attendance numbers up.

Flying by Regular Public Transport (RPT) has all the charm of going to the toilet – it stinks!
Its no fun, its boring and you are cramped in!

Turning into a very interesting thread.
In Australia, PIC is “Pilot-In-Command” I notice that some contributors refer to it as “Pilot-In-Charge” – obviously another one of those quirks that seem to abound in this area.

What’s the name of the film, I need to ensure I never see it. I hate it when genuine old aeroplanes are damaged/destroyed to just make a movie.
Where did the Anson fuse end up?
cheers
If the mag were “Classic Wings Downunder” then I would buy it, else if its in a bag, then its “Secret Mens Business” and I give it a miss. Most of the English magazines are just recycling of the same old news.
One thing that could be useful would be a CD with a selection old articles from past editions on it – now that would be a selling point. For example, everything that had ever been published by Flypast about Percival Proctors/Gulls.
Give the Spitfires and Lancasters a miss though – boring, boring boring!

what great images, I am really impressed

I purchased a Coolscan 5 ED a few years back. I had heaps of problems with dust showing up on the scans (off old slides).
Anyone find a way around it picking up the dust.
cheers
Thanks Blue Max
I think you might be referring to the Leicester Museum of Technology.

That is a real good lead and I will follow it up.

PS – For all those Percival Proctor people out there, I am still working on my Proctor Project, be it a bit more slowly. The Auster was meant to be a quick touch up, but things are taking longer than I planned.
