Haha, hence the sarcastic smilies in my post … We don’t really get paid more for charging passengers, wish we did though might make the pay packet a bit more attractive!

We do however get £1 per extra legroom seat sold!! 😉

I work on the ground for Jet2 at LBA, and can’t ever say I have seen a boarding pass printed without a seat number. Yes they do print duplicate bar codes for different passengers from time to time but seat numbers are always allocated. However if you are travelling with a wheelchair or infant you will need to go to check in even if you selected online check in as you are pre allocated seats in certain rows.

If your hand luggage is rejected (I’m sure you will know by now if it has been rejected) there will be a £12 charge to check it in, providing you haven’t already paid for bags?

Just risk it with the hand baggage and in the event any jobsworth at the gate queries it, say, “but the person that checked me in said it was fine”.

Haha, thats why us jobsworthys at Jet2.com put a hand luggage tag on every bad that is checked at check in and why we place hand luggage gagues at the gates. We dont let no Bugg€rs slip past us! :dev2: We get paid more for charging passengers!! 😉

Do you manually focus your pictures or let the camera do it automatically? You are lucky that the aircraft at Bristol have decent liverys, at Leeds I have great difficulty getting a sharp picture as on most days the Jet2 birds are the same colour as the sky!

I have a similar camera to you and I often get the settings completely wrong and just annoyed and let the camera sort it out for itself, I’m curious to know (if you can remeber) what sort of shutter speeds you are using for these pictures or are you using the auto program?

Nice one, we will probs see each other on the induction days by the sound of it.

Talking of pubs, I think the nearest one to the college is called The Albert in Yeadon but i’m not 100%

It says on the letter than its business dress so do you reckon we could just get away with a shirt and trousers or do you think its gonna be a suit?

If these is anyone else already at LBA, or London met, or just doing a similar course it would be great if they could give us a bit of feedback on what to expect and what other sort of stuff we will need to get?

Nice pics, I can never get mine to come out when the sky is grey! … my favourite is the FlyBe EMB, I still havent managed to get on one of those yet but i’m planning on going down to Jersey to see family soon … think I will go LGW-JER-LBA, atleast I will get the best of both world brand new BE EMB and a 22 year old Jet2 737 :diablo:

Have you found any where to live yet ? I havent !

I’m in the lucky position that I only live 20 minutes away from LBA so i’m commuting! Well if petrol doesnt go up any more! A good place to look is http://www.accommodationforstudents.com if you are looking for something in the city centre.

I take it you had the same letter I did, saying about the induction days on the 23rd and 24th? I dont suppose you know if the second induction day is on wednesday the 24th or thursday the 25th as in the letter it said thursday 24th :confused:

Any chance you are going to The Aviation Academy???

I’m hunting around for those books too!! I was just going to ask on here if anybody has them ….(so if they do two copes if each neaded please ;))

I went to Borders and Waterstones yesterday and they dont have them. At the moment I think im going to get them off Amazon or ebay.

If you are going to the Aviation Academy I will be seeing you soon …

WOW! Its great to see what LBA was like! I can’t believe how different the Terminal is!
It looks like one massive fire station! I take it aircraft didn’t park where the bmi/eastern RJ’s park now on stands 1-6? Did they park further down near the short stay car park?

Personaly I much prefer the ‘new’ bmi baby livery. I think it just looks well placed and advertises the company better.

Interesting shots, Charlie, although that terminal on your way home looked like a total nightmare!

Dam right! I like to bypass the shops normally and head straight for the gate to watch what was going on but our flight was called for boarding while we were just passing the xrays and we were at gate C49 or something like that which seemed like a half an hour run from security! Luckily we were sat on the bus for ages so managed to get those shots.

Any pics of the ramp at LBA?

This is the only one I got at LBA … It was too dark and we were too busy enjoying breakfast at 4am! 🙂

Great shots, shame you got probably the two worst A320’s in the TCX fleet!

Cheers, yeah honestly ‘AC was the worst plane I have been on! I always thought the legroon on a charter A320 would be the same but it was shocking! No joke I could not put my legs parrallel together out the outbound flight, but on the inbound I could and there was about an inch spare between my knees and the seat infront.

I know the hostie in 1 of your shots.

Is she called Sam? If she is one of my mates was eyeing her up all the way back home, he wouldnt shut up about her for about a week after! Dont think she noticed though!
