I’ve been told this F-51D, on display at Kirtland AFB, NM, is a fiberglass replica.

Great shots, and thanks for sharing!

Here’s a photo of a Komet I took about a month ago at the Museum of the United States Air Force.

Thanks! As the Tucson area is only a 6 hour drive away, I need to plan another trip. I could spend all day at Pima, and have access to DMAFB (where they have a nice air park, as well as nice and inexpensive lodging).
Interesting to see the YAL-1 at DM/AMARG. I was down that way in March 2012, and the aircraft had just arrived.
Made my way out to Planes of Fame East last October when visiting the Grand Canyon… thought it was nice for being out in the middle of nowhere.
If you are still road-tripping in the desert southwest, I highly recommend a stop at the War Eagles Museum in Santa Teresa, NM (down on the Mexican border, not far from El Paso, TX). Fantastic people there… I’ve arrived a couple of times about an hour before the museum was scheduled to open. The staff that also arrived early gladly let us in, and were kind enough to let us crawl around a few of the airplanes. and like Planes of Fame East, there are lots of drip trays at War Eagles… if I’m not mistaken, all but 3 of the planes are still in flying condition.
Looks like a DHC Dash-8… if I’m not mistaken, the U.S. Army has a few of these for battleground surveillance type missions.

Just finished uploading pictures of this morning’s Mass Ascension to the link in the original post, should anyone care to take a look. Many different balloons this morning, and I’m hoping for more of the same at tomorrow’s Farewell Mass Ascension.

Tim,
I’m using SlickPic and had some trouble myself yesterday.
A little background on this website… it will provide the user with a URL with their “share photo” option, and provides a different URL if I attempt to upload the way I used to with Flickr (using the URL via photo properties). I ended up just posting a link to my Aircraft folder, and that seems to suffice (my hits have gone up quite a bit since my post last evening).
I would guess my problem has something to do with the site itself as most of the posts on here are from either Flickr or Photobucket, but if you have any other suggestions, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Rob
To me, it appears to be a MIL MI-28 Havoc.

There is a lot of NATO training and “desert” training going on down at Holloman AFB, which is very close to the White Sands Missile Range. Occasionally, these folks will make their way up to Kirtland AFB, where I get the chance to see some non-U.S. aircraft.

This link will take you to all of the shots I posted from my visit to the War Eagles Air Museum on Flickr.

Here are a few shots from my trip to the Pima Air & Space Museum yesterday. At first, I really didn’t care for these, but the do sort of grow on you.
