Hi Jack, I was at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power today, the Lancaster with a Hurricane and a clipped wing Spitfire gave a great display then came to you.

Low pass by large transport near Woore about 16.00, also Sea Fury earlier on, could be both returning from Welshpool ?

Hi Anon,
Thank for your interest in the Lion, I have to admit to being very biased but they do run very sweetly, a nice exhaust bark with a hint of bevel drive whirr.
I started it up last week for the first time this year and it roared into life after less than half a crankshaft rotation.

Another great photo from Rob, thanks, hope to see you again in September.
As far as I know in the UK at the moment the following piston aero engines are kept running by enthusiastic owners,
10 Merlins
3 Griffons
1 P&W radial
1 LeRhone radial
1 Ash radial
2 Bristol Hercules
3 Leonides
1 Napier Lion
Please let me know if I have missed your engine.

Wulfie, please read your messages, re this weekend.
Andy
Hi Zorglub,
Do you have any photo’s of the found Napier engine please.
Andy
Hello Joe, I hope you are well,
I am a member of the Napier Power Heritage Trust and have asked them to look at the signature, they confirm it is that of Montague Napier, what a great piece of history you have there.
I recently ran my Napier Lion engine at the Shuttleworth Collection,

Another great Old Warden event,
I was able to make some noise throughout the day,

Don’t forget the Shuttleworth uncovered event on the 22nd September, a late addition to the day, I will be running the Napier Lion engine at various times through the day, let’s hope the English summer remembers what it should be like.

Andy
Hi Anon,
a great looking engine you have, will you be running it at some point ?
I have a P&W Jr Wasp waiting to be fitted on a rig and run up.
Have a good time at Halfpenny Green, I ran my Leonides there a few years ago.
I will be at Loton Park this weekend watching the aero engined car’s and at Old Warden on the 22nd running the Lion.
Andy
Thank you all,
Just what I had hoped, the Hercules did look like it was a sea recovery, very corroded.
I will forward any info to the museum.
Andy
Dakota ?
What looked like the BBMF Dakota flew over my place this afternoon near Woore.
