Hi to all,
I am taking the Lion engine to Old Warden for the Military Pageant on the 7th August, hopefully I will do a few run’s, as normal it depends on the weather.

I look forward to meeting other’s from this forum.
Andy
Hi to all,
Brooklands put on an excellent weekend with many car and aero engine goings on.
We had the 3 running Lion engines together which was great and very noisy.
The following shows a small part of the weekend, thanks to the poster of this clip.

p.s. sorry to zrx61, I forgot to answer your question, I am getting the carbs better setup now, the petrol leaking was a float level problem.
Hi to all,
I have been invited to take the Lion to the Brooklands Double Twelve festival on the 18/19th of this month, if all goes well I will do a couple of runs on each day, hopefully next to the Railton and maybe the Napier Bentley, that could be all of the running Lion engines together.
A clip from a recent run,

Hi super sioux,
good to chat today, I was pleased to get to run twice as there was a “noise” concern.
I have a little more fine tuning to do yet but was very happy with the interest it got.
I will post the details of any further outings as and when.
Thanks.
Andy
Hi everybody,
If the weather is half decent I am going to take the Lion to a local steam and vintage event at Mill Meece pumping station, North Staffordshire.
I hope to run but that is down to the organiser.
Andy
Hi gentlemen, thank you for your kind word’s,
Sean,
Chris had a lot of trouble trying not to spin on the large amount of oil being layed down by another car, a car as big as the Napier Bentley must be a handful in those condition’s.
I know Chris very well, I bought my Lion from him and all through the rebuild he has helped me, be it pressure testing cylinder’s, borrowing special tool’s and generally pointing me in the right direction.
An old Edwardian special would be nice but I finished my car racing in 2003 after my 5th Nurburgring 24h, I don’t have that car anymore but I do still have my Grp”A” RS500.

MerlinPete called in and had a go starting the Lion, good effort !
I hope to get the final bits and pieces done and then get to a show.
Andy
Hi all,
Thank you all for your interest in the Lion,
Creaking Door, I hope to go down to Old Warden at some point as they have been very helpful with my rebuild.
Peter, thank you very much, I didn’t know what to do with the guages then I realised that the old case they were being stored in was just the thing !
Andy
Hi to all,
After 3 years work the Lion fired up for the first time in probably 75 years, it was a great feeling.

Andy
Hi all, I have got a bit more done, the carbs are coming on well but take a lot of time,

Andy
ZRX61, you are spot on ! will it be at ……?
Hi PanzerJohn,
Thanks for the Malta Lion photo’s, there is such a lot of detail considering the time it was underwater.
Andy
Hi Biggles of 266 and all,
I will guess Hawker Horsley.
Andy
Thank you for your kind words gentlemen,
I am now in the middle of manufacturing a pair of carburettors, most of the internals are machined and the casting patterns should be with me this week.
The cut down prop is now fitted, the cooling system is finished and the instruments are done.
I just need a rest.
Andy
Evening everyone,
As this thread has appeared back on the top table here is a little update,
Getting there slowly,

Andy
