Maybe you could explain why that is, I dont see the big relation of French and German subs to XXI over Kilos
French subs these days (especially the SSBN’s) look more like American boats, the British are starting to follow this trend and why not? The American’s have spent the money of research and development in order to make them faster underwater, it just goes to stand that you should go with the optimum design and that’s what everyone is doing!
Admittedly the Agosta 90B’s look alot like the Type 209/1500’s but then again it all comes down to functionality. Upholders look like Kilo’s, Daphne’s and Early Agostas look like Porpoise/Oberon class, everyone follows one design or another depending on the functions that they want out of their design
Kockums designs don’t have a rival and you could say that they are starting to have a limited export success, what with Australia buying the Type 471 design of their A-17 (the Collins is actually the largest D/E sub in the world), and now four boats going to Singapore (yes they are old ones that were passed on, but this still counts as they have had to be modifide for use by the singaporian navy).
Western subs dont have flood holes
That’s right, the Western designs work on a suck and blow principle un like the Eastern designs which have a dual suck principle.
