I was researching the Piper Enforcer some time ago and came agross some info on a P-51 with Ramjets on the wing tips, not the one QArt has got here but another one with colour pics that were taken in the 70’s, IIRC it’s in a museum somewhere in the US that has open air storage and rust coloured hills (Mohave desert?). I’ve tried to find the URL again but it’s lo longer up.

With the US right next door and providing Military funding for MOST of the MDF, I doubt that they would buy anything from China. I asked a similar question not long ago and got a few replies.

The primary function of these planes will be to monitor airspace and sea approaches to our country, we’ve had a big problem for a long time with illegal immigration, especially coming in from the sea approaches from the Timor direction.

While the sea life are good neighbours to have, they don’t speak our language and can’t tell us if someone is coming that is not supposed to be.

Papa Lima: Mate didn’t Sweden have the J-21R’s before the vampire? As for which thread this should be in, I wasn’t expecting such an historical account as this, maybe I should have posted it in the Flypast section after all.

Hawk: Damd they look good mate, are they going for an upgrade or will they be replaced? If replaced when and with what?

Art: Didn’t Venlo opperate some Blitz’s as well during the war, or am I yet again mistaken?
