RE: Why do I bother?
T5, it’s a great idea. I was apprehensive at first, cause Kab seems to have the market in Pics of the day on all three forums, not that I begrudje him for it. I feel that the rest of the world is left out because all pics seem to be of European origin.
Before I started “pic of Inspiration” on the AFM forum, I emailed Kab to see if it would interfere with his work! His responce was “Go ahead, it’s a free world”! He even went as far as to say that he’d like to see what I have!
And then I posted that pic of Longreach, everyone liked it and asked for more, so I posted them! but everyone had settled back down really quickly to the mundane!
I have spent no less than 100 hours on the internet to find what few pics I have of interesting stuff for this forum, and I’m proud to display what I have. By the sounds of it, everyone else is starting to want to see more of the unusual/exotic stuff, especially where europe is concerned!
Kab has done a great job of keeping interest flowing (especially those Kai Tak pics), he has been my inspiration for my posting of the “Pics of Down Under” series, collaboration is the key to success! Now all we need is someone from the Americas side and we pretty much have the world covered!
Sorry, I just got a bit down cause I posted some pics and was on the net for two days straight (working on my business), and saw that no-one had looked at the pics! Check out the Bankstown one, that airport is one busy place, my cousin and I used to ride there on our push bikes and sit right under the landing path, pure inspiration!
Also this is where most of the warbirds in Australia first arrive to be rebuilt and serviced. My cousins Mig-15 is based here!
