That could be it Dan, thanks mate. Looking at the colour of the Al Manamah that I have and looking at that pic they do seem to be very similar, than means that the boat behind it is not of the Bahrani avy after all, so now I am asking what that is?

Another mention must also go to the US for the digital camo that they have developed, someone else can post a pic.

Another favourite of mine is the former Australian Army PC-6 camo, I’d easily rank it up there with the Splinter cam of the Swedish air force!

The last fly out, straight under the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

firstly thanks Ha27 for these very rare pics, I would like to see more pics of the other types in service like the F-5’s and the Mig-15UTI’s also the C-130’s

Oh and I would really like to see some old pics of both the North and South Yemen markings if any are still around.

Neptune: Mate there has been a lot of contraversy over those Brunei Navy boats, last I heard VT had taken the governemnt of Brunei to the world court for failure to pay, the Brunei government said that the boats were not completed to specification and that they would pay but only after the boats had been finished to original specs.

The unofficial reason going around is that they don’t have the money to pay for them, but IIRC Brunei does have three of them in service

I remember reading back in the mid 90’s that there was a G model Hind that had been developed for NBC testing, noty many were made (or rather converted as some of the cases may have been) and I remember that it had robotic arms on the outer stubs where the AT missiles usually go, these were for collecting samples of the dirt and such for testing.

Does anyone have any pics of these?

Also of interest are pics of the Hind Bombers, I read somewhere that (India I think it was) had used these as bombers mounting FAB 250’s or FAB 500’s on the wings in place of the fuel tanks or rocket pods, I’d be really greatful if someone had a pic of these.

Finally in my collection of big asks, pics of the cabin space in hind (and the Havoc which everyone talks about but no one has ever seen, though it is only an emergency thing). I have some ideas and would really like to check out the interior of the Hind to see if it is indeed possible.

Would you mind donating it to Australia instead mate? along with some of those Viggens that are now on the way out?

This is very interesting in the light of SAAB making offers to numerous countries at basically what can be described as “Bargin Basement” prices. I take it that the planes are all the A/B models and are of the first block and there fore would need a huge modernisation to bring them into line with the latest C/D models?

I think that dispite my disliking of certain planes, you can’t discredit their camo.

I love the camo on the Kuwaiti Hornets, they actually make the planes look decent!

Also the Malaysian Hornets are very nice too, the dark grey really seems to make the plane

As for the F-16’s the TNI-AU’s colours can’t be frowned upon either!

But no one can deny the Germans during WWII, the imortal BF-109 in the desert.

It talks about the deal being a concession to both the government who want the Russian Mig-29SMT-2 and 18 Su-30MKA’s in addition to a number of S-300PMU-2’s being sought, but to keep the Airforce happy who want western equipment, the Raf is being sought as well. They say that 36 aircraft are to be bought giving a squadron strength of 14 single seaters with 2-4 duals on hand. 40 Mig’s are being sought in the deal and if this does go ahead, this would make the Algerian Airforce a very potent force to deal with and possibly one of the strongest in the North African area.

What I would really like to know apart from where the money is coming from, but why do they need these planes? Who do they see as a major threat? The only one I can think of is Lybia but they don’ty have the will any more.

Are there any pics of the interior of these ships? I’d really like to see some cockpit shots of the A models, perhaps Canpark could help there.

Canpark: How many A models are currently airworthy in the VPAF? Are they still a front line machine?
