A very humbling story, and reminiscent of another old soldier who died last year, very well known in my home town. A gentleman in every respect.
The record booths in his music shop was extremely popular with us kids in the 1960s and 1970s – and we had no idea of his past… http://www.heraldscotland.com/comment/obituaries/bill-barr-cochrane.13445352

Always loved that photo – apparently it was Bf109E-3 WL-IGKS which was used to develop the Bf109F…

The population of that part of the world has amongst the highest mean IQs on Earth, which could reap such huge benefits to mankind.
But I suspect that intelligence and education would be fairly well stifled under these fundamentalist blinkered views.
Or maybe they just realise that women have brains like squirrels…

I’ll bet the family regret they shelled out £4000 for that fancy headstone now.
Of course it won’t matter to Savile now if the police and the BBC find him guilty of these offences, but it may uncover other celebrities who were up to the same thing, and that’s important.
If proved true, it’s also important that his place in UK/BBC music and entertainment history is rubbished to remind people about what he he really was…

If my Dad was alive today, he’d be 108. Go back only ten times that, and the Vikings were terrorising the north east coast of Scotland, and taking people away in chains as slaves.
I DEMAND COMPENSATION FROM THE NORWEGIAN AND DANISH GOVERNMENTS FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY ANCESTORS!

If it was mine, I’d melt some of the Bakelite from the busted cases on the end of a soldering iron, and transfer the molten stuff into the area to be repaired. Wait until it cools off, then sand down with some fine wet & dry paper, and then polish with a metal polish like Solvol…

Wouldn’t the lube in the wheel bearings further insulate the tyres?
