When I hear ‘Ark Royal’ it always conjures up images of Phantoms, Buccaneers and Gannets – to me the other one seems brand new!

Morocco recieved scores of ex-Iraqi Sea Furies in the 1950s – might be one of them…

It was largely untouched when I first saw it in the 1970s, and the engines were much more buried. The tailwheel had obviously been sawn off even then though!
I remember large sheets of armour lying around, turret rings, stainless exhausts, chromed undercarriage legs, bits of geodetic, loads of exploded .303, and even scraps of serge RAF uniform.
I’ll try to dig out more photos…

I wonder if it would work on my Harley’s cylinders instead of a rebore?

Probably THE biggest hero of the 20th Century, his name will be remembered so long as there is human history.
Like millions of people all over the world, I sat up well into the night to watch those fuzzy images of Armstrong and Aldrin walk on the moon, surrounded by my Airfix models of the Saturn V and the LEM.
What an achievement for the US and the world – shame the human race hasn’t progressed very much in the 43 years since.
Incidentally, I’m sure there will be a lot of bagpipes lamenting his passing today and tonight both in American and here – Armstrong was of Scottish descent.
    RIP Neil Armstrong

‘Conduct becoming of an Officer and Gentleman’ certainly wasn’t around much when I was serving as an officer in Croatia in the 1990s.
I once saw a Army officer drinking with his men at our billet downtown. His men were buying his clothes off him to raise $40 so he could have one last fling with a local prostitute before he went home – last seen walking away with her in his boxers.

I suspect Harry has been using Max Moseley as a role model…

So you agree that rape/sexual assault is ok?….

    Hmmm…..

Galloway didn’t say rape or sexual assault was OK, but that the facts as presented don’t constitute those crimes, which I agree with.

I don’t often agree with George Galloway, but in this case the odious little man has a point, as in my post #27…
