Let’s face it, the crimes he has to face in Sweden may be local news, but certainly wouldn’t be of worldwide interest. He hasn’t been charged with a crime, and even the Swedish government has said they have no legitimate reason to seek Assange’s extradition. It’s just an excuse to ‘get him’ on something.
It’s very easy to call him a coward, but what are the alternatives? Hand himself in so that the full might of some miffed American court can imprison him for life, or execute him?
The UK government will do anything to ingratiate themselves to the US – and even go so far as to violate international diplomatic laws and conventions, which could have much more serious implications worldwide.
My best wishes to Mr Assange…

Trouble is, Britain can no longer use superior technology to subdue nations which are armed only with pointed sticks – we’ve given them so much aid they are now much better equipped than us.

And without the Empire to supply us with raw materials and very cheap labour, Britain has shrunk back to reality – just a small group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean scraping a living in a very hostile world.

Germany had the right idea with the Bauhaus in the early 1900s – they pooled the skills and resources of their best designers, artists, architects and industrialists to produce products which were simply the best in terms of function, aesthetics, and ease of manufacture. The product could be anything from a nail to a building.

‘Made in Germany’ changed from being a bad joke to a sign of the highest quality…

Using F1 car to plough? I don’t think so. The F-35B are capable to fly extremely slow to hovering. The only problem here will be the fuel consumption.

Transformers isn’t science fact – you do know that, don’t you??

Even as a card-carrying Scottish Nationalist, I’ve found the Brit medal ceremonies quite moving, especially for the female rowers, and Murray’s gold today.
For such a small island, and a relatively small population, the UK has certainly made it’s mark on the world, and still punches well above its weight…

An anti-sub aircraft needs to get to the search area quickly, and then be able to loiter slowly in search patterns for extended periods of time, searching the sea with a dedicated radar, and dropping sonobuoys so that the data can be analysed by specialist operators.
Using an F-35 for the task would be like using a Formula 1 car to plough a field…

How dare you call me a Tory – don’t you realise that’s tantamount to a racist remark hereabouts?
Any way – Tories are far too liberal for my liking…
