So whose side should they have fought on then if not ours?

Mainly that we should have helped the Germans fight the Russians…

    It’s not ridiculous.

I have had the same conversation with more than one serviceman from WW2 who have said strongly the same thing. Not even intimated, but strongly said on more than a few occasions.

Regardless whether you personally find this unpalatable.

Many thanks for posting that – I’m glad someone else has had the same experience.
In one instance, the (now deceased) father of a good friend of mine was a Commando during WW2, who fought in North Africa and Italy, and was later a member of special teams who sought out and arrested (or executed) Axis war criminals, and interestingly, did the same to militants in the fledgling Israel, whom our government deemed as terrorists. After his Army duties, he policed the streets of Glasgow until he retired.
He would shake his head in dismay at how Britain was turning out, and would often lament about having used up his youth fighting the wrong people…

Now that is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have read here…and that’s saying something.

Who are you to call their impressions ridiculous?

One thought keeps coming back to me.
Imagine if the UK’s civilians and service personnel of WW2 had been shown what Britain was going to turn into in the future – a lawless, morally and intellectually vacant, self-serving, multi-cultured melting pot.
Would that magnificent generation have been so willing to fight on, or put their lives on the line to save their heritage and way of life, only to see it dismissed and so willfully eradicated?
I think they would have been totally horrified and disillusioned at the thought that future ‘British’ generations could loot and destroy their own cities for kicks and bling.
To put things into perspective, I have spoken to personnel of the RAF, Army, and Royal Navy, who have even intimated that with hindsight they fought on the wrong side during WW2…

Bring out the water cannon, fill them with a powerful permanent flourescent dye and spray the lot of them…

Let’s not mince our words here – it would have to be indelible whitewash…

I’m with you on this one, but it doesn’t seem to work very well for the USA, does it?

The “management” of the UK are only interested in maintaining the status quo of ensuring the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

The are not interested in the man in the street at all.

As long as the public schools and class system is maintained nothing will change.

If this country is to stand any chance may I recommend the following

AA/ An end to the royal family replaced by an elected president.

BB/ A proper election system – an end to first past the post.

CC/ A proper elected second chamber.

DD/ A written bill of rights.

    EE/ A written constitution.

FF/ A society based on opportunity and ability not what public school you went to.

GG/ Elected police chiefs and associated personel who are responsible to the local people.

HH/ Return the gas, water, electricity and transport systems to public ownership.

With a possible economic melt down just around the corner, get used to this, stock up on tined food, fuel and buy as much gold as you can.

You might think am barking……but I can smell some very interesting coffee.

Oh and finally, as someone once said to me ” If you always do what you always did then you will always get what you always got” . People if we things to change, we have to start doing things differently.

    …………..stands well back………
