I wonder if that was a common or traditional way of disposing of Jews in particular?

In the heat of the moment, who knows what an individual will do to protect their property, and possibly their family.
In my view, anyone who breaks into a house leaves their rights at the door…

Looks like an early photo of that particular Ju88 before the vultures removed the swastika and the rear canopy…
it is a pretty stripped out aircraft…
…Did this particular one ever fly for the BoB film? It certainly wasnt one of the UK registered examples.
I remember reading about the making of the film in a book which came out around the same time as the release – the BoB film people used the IWM Heinkel for cockpit and fuselage interior shots, and the IWM were very unimpressed when pyrotechnics were used to simulate bullet strikes, which damaged the cockpit quite a bit, as you can see in the movie…

Looks like a nice day – it must get really hairy with some mountain turbulence and hill fog…
Superb photos!
It might even make sense in terms of knackered airframes, since I expect MPA flying is generally less stressful for airframes than tactical transport: light loads, long smooth runways, no sharp climbs or descents needed.
I would have thought operating at 200 salt-laden feet over rough seas, and flying very tight search patterns, would be an extremely tough environment for an airframe…
