The general appearance is very similar to the Messerschmitt Foundation’s static Bf 109-G2. That particular airframe is a converted Ha 1109 1-KL, serial 54, and was used for ground scenes in the BoB movie which were never aired.
Interesting history, and beautiful in silver!

Sometimes the upper winds will favour the northerly Great Circle route (the shortest distance between two points on the spherical Earth), which goes roughly north west through Stornoway, south of Iceland and Greenland, to Canada, sometimes they favour the southerly Great Circle, which goes roughly south west towards the Azores.
Airlines use forecast upper winds and temperatures to compute the most economical flightpath…

Before going abroad on military detachments, attending security briefings were usually mandatory, outlining various threats likely to be encountered.
When asked “Who do you think spies on the UK most?”, usually people would say “The Soviets!”, but the correct answer was in fact the US, closely followed by France.

If you can positively identify any of the aircraft in the photo, look up the type’s published wing span, then accurately measure the wingspan on the image with a ruler. If you have to enlarge the image, make sure you use the same factor for all the area under question.
You can then use that measurement to fabricate a very accurate scale, with which you can get very good estimates of the lengths and widths of the unknown aircraft.
You can then compare the estimates to the various types you would expect to see on a 1945 airfield – you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results…

I don’t think anyone is trying to justify it – why does it need justification?

Surely that’s what Mr Creosote’s thread is all about – how ‘sportsmen’ can justify taking pleasure in hunting and killing a magnificent stag?
