Estimates range from 18 to 40 aircrafts though. I think the currant estimate is 22 aircrafts operational, though it’s impossible to confirm it.
Thank you!
But just these a bit of words?
Can’t we find photos in good quality of them?I tried to Google for these, but I’ve got nearly nothing. You guys said there are MIG-29s and other type of aircrafts in N-Korea,But I never see them:no photos,no stories, just only number and the screenshots you showed to me.Especially,I want to see pictures of China-built Aircrafts. Why China sold combat aircrafts to N-Korea?I hear of the relation of those two is not very good as many people think of.
You don’t expect the North Koreans to invite western or Japanese photographers into their military bases for photo do you?
About the only time you can expect to see a quality photo of North Korean military aircrafts is when either one defects or when the regime collapses.
If the Israeli ship has all 16 of its anti-ship missiles in range, than I think just about any ship in the world would be screwed. However, launching anti-ship missiles at RN warship would be death sentence for the IDF navy. We probably would never know, but there might be a SSN lurking around the waters somewhere, and if the Israeli ships take an offensive action against the RN evacuation force, I imagine it wouldn’t take too long for most IDF warships to be sunk.
I’ve heard from an Israeli that it is an Sa’ar-5 corvette; not sure which one however. For air-defense role it has pretty comprehensive short-range systems comprised of Phalanx CIWS and Barak short-range SAM system.
The last I heard, the ship was struck near the heli-pad and fire ensued, which was suppressed quickly without doing much damage. But appearantly the ship steering system was also damaged. It might be being towed to port.
Overdue? Maybe after a war or two.
Wasn’t the result of ‘Eurofighter’ two seriously delayed and overpriced aircrafts?
Besides, Japan is number three in threat priority list. ‘Not an enemy no, but who really knows’ kind of relationship. Even if the project did come together, neither side will want other’s equipment on their fighter, which makes cimbined project pretty much useless.
If you can get close enough. Chin Hae, for example is closed structure with brick walls surrounding the compound and MP patrolling the surrounding areas that can overlook the harbor. Other places such as Dong Hae is much more open in terms of viewing. But as I’ve said, people who know don’t release such information; it’s against the law. The security law was loosened in the recent years, but few things still remain in place.
I can’t help with any of that sorry. I haven’t seen anything posted online. Those who know about the specifics won’t release the information publically for the sake of security.
One hanger is located forward just ahead of the upper structure. It can house just 4 medium-sized helicopters and is connected to the aviation deck via an elevator. Behind the hanger is the vehicle deck.
Dokdo is somewhat lacking in terms of efficiency due to having the hanger and the vehicle deck on the same level. They are saying that the Dokdo class will be cut short at one ship and 2nd and 3rd ships of the LPX program will be enlarged and improved designs.
Make bogey contact within visual range? Bloody mess of turning fights? Have you really looked at the map of South Korea and East Asian region?
Great, now if we could just choke President Noh to cough up the other $2 million they’ve stashed somewhere. The original plan was for 40 more fighters.
If my memory serves me correctly, the 20mm Vulcans are copies of 20mm guns mounted on fighters. Korean engineers retrieved and copied one after loss of on of their F-4 or F-5 aircraft. Why they did it? It’s cheap and gets lot of lead in the air fast. Arms in the South Korean FACs vary between Jae Bi and Chamsuri class, and even within class there are differences. 20mm Vulcans proved quite effective in suppressing North Korean fire, but they could not sink the boats as well. PKX, a new design being built at the moment, will mount 76mm and a 40mm.
Kilo class, the book by author named Robinson, right? I haven’t read it, but read his USS Seawolf novel. His books aren’t military novels, but thriller novels with military conflicts as a backdrop. His technical details are pretty lacking, at least that’s what I thought when I read the Seawolf.
F-15K is way too valuable of an asset, and RF-16 is basically talking about recc against North Korean stationary and mobile targets close to the front, so it would be a close. The latest batch of 20 KF-16s is really extra squadron the government forced the air force to buy, so I guess they’re just trying to make best use out of them.
You’re quite correct, ROKAF RF-4Cs are at the end of their line. The current plan is to replace both RF-4 and RF-5 fleet of the air force by converting the latest batch of KF-16s into RF-16s using recc pods.
