That’s a Chardonnay you owe her then!
Yep, I believe she is partial to it.
It will have a difference….!
The Luftwaffe wins, to keep it PC or Gordon Brown apologises for the RAF’s role in the battle ?
Can’t add anything to the debate except for this picture of an unknown Lancaster and Crew.

Thanks James
Been put in contact with someone at the IWM by a very nice lady who frequents this forum on occasions 😉
This may actually be Lincoln Mk.30A A73-40 which hit trees, lost two engines and ditched on I February 1957.
Anyone able to confirm this ?
Thanks James.
I think it was noted after Joe Holmes’ obit that he wasn’t flying that day. Saying that I had an interesting evening flicking through his scrap book from 1941 to 1949. Some great photographs of Whirlwinds and Typhoons and the men who flew them.
Sadly I’ve not been able to take copies this time, however going to arrange a look at the rest of his memorabilia including his flying logs sometime soon.
Thanks James, not sure about publishable at the moment. I’ll wait and see what gems his daughter turns up.
Would it power a Vulcan ?
What about us poor sods in the South then. To do Cosford properly means an overnight stay on the way up. and probably again on the way back.
Cosford means an overnight stay for me too….if Hendon did close were would you put everything?
My heart bleeds, some of us have to suffer an expensive and long boat journey prior to a trek anywhere in the UK to visit museums or air shows and then there’s accommodation costs on top.
the India reference was a joke in light of the LF363 affair.
Some what ironic considering the owners of this Hurricane were embroiled in an Indian saga of their own a few years ago.
First post whinger.
“There are two kinds of people in this world — talkers and doers. Talkers talk about what they wish they would do, and doers shut up and do it. But doers also do one other very important thing: they actively avoid spending time with talkers.”
Mark 😉
Ah is that why we never see you then ?
I guess you need to speak to someone at Shuttleworth for the truth about the Nimrod.
One thought though, could the Nimrods’ reputation come from the fact that it was flown off carriers in often tricky conditions?
Have they or are they getting one ?
The airfield scene was filmed at Les Lande in Jersey using flatpack backdrops.
I can sympathise with you, the same happened here in Jersey to a memorial plaque I was instrumental in placing. Some faceless individual painted swastikas on it twice in as many weeks.
