I’m not sure where I read it, but it maybe the museum now based at Kemble. However it is quite possible that I am wrong.

According to a website on Google, the Varsity was ‘gifted’ to the airport (fire section perhaps ?) approx 2-3 years ago.

However there is a small photo of it on p233 of the current Wrecks’n’Relics 19 but i cant make out if it has aerial Peter needs.

If it is too far gone, perhaps items like engines & cockpit can be saved ?

    Thoughts anyone ?

The engines may already be earmarked for a local museum, I recall reading something along these lines somewhere recently.

    Hi

Apparently there are about 20 machines that were buried wrapped in plastic bubblewrap after being coated in waxol and tissue paper
once wrapped they were fitted into Gigantic Doc Martins boxes created for the purpose. Upon discovery, Mel Gibson – the well known New Zealand Pacifist/ Atheist /thespian bought up all the aircraft and swore all parties to secrecy which is why nothing has been heard of the Dambusters movie remake lately as it is being filmed as we speak at a secret location in Botswana and will star Robert Magabee as Guy Gibson.

JDK is I believe the project co ordinator which further explains why he is leaving the UK.

    Regards and Merry Christmas
    John P

He also forgot to mention the involvement of One D. Bader in the preservation of these aircraft, operating from his hide away in Skeggi !!!!

I believe that it is owned by Brunel Technical College, but this may be wrong now, it has been some years since I lived in the area.-

It appear that the following are stored in and around the airport at Lulsgate

    G-ANAP DH104,
    G-AVFM Trident,
    G-BAUI PA23,
    G-BFRL Ce152,
    G-BIUO RC112,

Because there’s a difference between justice and the rule of law on the one hand, and mob rule and vengeance on the other.

It’s not for his sake – it’s for oursake.

So that we will always be better than the tyrants of this world, whether they are brought to justice or not.

    Well put.

The Nazi’s were allowed a defence, so why not Sadam?

Mind you I’d be interested to know under which law they are trying him, US, French or Iraqi. If it’s Iraqi, I wonder how much of a hand he had in writing it ?????

If it’s international law, what is this based on ? Common ir civil

Again I couldn’t help welling up as the young girl read the letter from the sole surviving crew member of her Grand Fathers crew.

It’s still compelling viewing despite the inaccuracies previously mentioned, I think we have to make allowances.

We got rid of our Gold Card and just have one with a low limit for emergencies, it’s too easy to spend on them and before you know it you’re up to your neck in debt.

A debit card is another option, you only spend the money you have then.
