Its a lot safer to drive at 70/80mph in our Audi TT compared to a Morris Minor or equivalent. When I got nabbed by the camera I was doing my hair safely according to the road conditions, sadly the plod don’t see it that way.

I was under the impression that the speed limit is going to be raised to 80mph on motorways next year anyways. Or am i misinformed ?

And also i believe that your vehicle should be able to achieve the min speed on motorway of 40mph ?

I think you were mis-informed this Gov’t is more likely to reduce it.

I agree with Flood, at present Plod will give you the benefit of the doubt at 80 mph, theres a 5% +/-tolorance built into speed indicators anyhow, anything over 80 and you will get your wrists slapped. I also believe that there is a minimum average speed on motorways as well, I think that is 40.

Then how come it almost ALWAYS happens from US armed Forces and hardly ever from other (civilised) nations? In the iraq war alone the British suffered casualties from a Patriot missile shooting down a slow-flying RAF Tornado as a missile, one of our reporters in a convoy being strafed by the USAF dispite having clearance by the US forces to cross the area and losses on the ground to US marines. And British have done??? Nothing. Diddly squat. Not even one episode of Friendly fire since the 70’s. Its not an excuse that it was an honest mistake, just faulty intelligence and a pig-headed ignorance to BL**DY LOOK!

Wasn’t there another case of blue on blue during the Falklands when SBS and SAS units clashed with dire results. Also didn’t a Challenger destroy a Warrior during the last Gulf war with casualties?
