When we lived in the West Country, Clevedon to be precise, there was a chap called Bob Trapnell who use to scour the local rubbish bins, dumps and anywhere else looking for odds and sods. His house and garden resembled a rubbish collection depot and on many occasions the local authority would arrange to clear it out and the process would start again.
When the neighbours complained he bought their house off them.
IIRC he was related to the Trapnell family in Weston Super Mare who use to run quite a few of the concessions on the sea front, in particular the donkeys.
His idea of a bath was a dip in the Bristol Channel under Clevedon pier. Sadly he died a few years ago, I believe after being beaten up by a number of brainless morons.
Have you thought of going on a project management course ?
Hello everyone,
Hope your flying is enjoyable and you are doing a lot of it.
We already have 19 entries, with 3 months to go; it looks to be one of the best rallies yet.
We are already well into planning the competitions, gathering the prizes and completing all the arrangements for you to have a wonderful time.
Believe it or not the present economic climate has probably made this year’s Rally the best value yet for both British pilots and European.
The British Pilots will enjoy the same price as last year and with the pound losing up to 30% of its value against the Euro and US Dollar, this Rally is still in pounds, so it is most likely going to be the best value for money flying event for a Brit, this year.
For all our European entrants, we could be the cheapest full package event they will attend this year, thanks to the British Government.
Not forgetting the price for fuel is possibly the cheapest in the UK and the Euro will buy up to 30% more at present.Don’t forget the 50˚N rule, claim back all the tax on your fuel purchased in the UK if you travel south of 50˚N (Pilots travelling from the UK only).
Most likely the team from Ultimate High will return, so if you want to try some aerobatics, you can on Saturday after the competition.
For our European colleagues, it will be even more value than before. If you haven’t already entered, it is far from late, sign up and bring a couple of friends from your club – you will automatically be entered into the highest scoring club competition.
Next time I post I will be able to give some competition information.
Happy Landings

And as last year the team fromKandidprints will be in attendance as well, to capture the arrivals. This year they will be offering the chance to purchase printed 8″ x 6″ copies of the photographs from the club house.
“Aviation Archaeologist” and/or “Wreck Review” mags about it.
Are they amateur publications ? 🙂
With the 65th anniversary of his murder occurring early tomorrow, we stopped off at the memorial to Bernard Scheidhauer this afternoon to pay our respects.
I took the attached picture of the stone and cross to share here.

As it appears the company has gone into administration I would suggest trying to establish who the administrators are. They will be either keeping the Company on as a going concern in the hope of selling it, or more than likely winding it up and disposing of assets in order to pay creditors, which in theory you will be one. However there is a pecking order, senior debt such as bank loans and mortgages come first, then subordinated debt, then trade creditors and finally share holders.
Sorry to paint a bleak picture but it maybe that you won’t get much in return. Good luck.
Typical data plate rebuild, is there no end ?
I don’t have access to my BCL volumes but a rough guess would be that Bill Fripp’s pilot was Michael J Casey, in 57 Sqdn Blenheim I, L1141 shot down 16-Oct-1939.

Sqn Ldr Roger Bushell and his escape partner (and pilot of EN830) Sous Lt Bernard Scheidhauer FFAL. They got as far as Saarbrucken before being captured. They were executed by Spann and Schulz near Mannheim on 29 March 1944 and their remains cremated at Saarbrucken.

By ignoring what the doctors were telling her (abnormal smear test results).
Two children have lost their mother, that is very sad. As for the rest of the Goody circus, well I am sorry but I am past caring.
I agree MotF, sad as it is I’m sick of all the hype.
Though I suppose one good thing to to come out of it is the highlighting of this form of cancer, and maybe other women will heed the warning signs.

This is Barry.
Met him a few times. We unqualified aviation archaeologist types were able to find, identify and recover wreckage of his Hurricane and reunite him with a few bits way back in the early 80’s. It meant a good deal to him. Just one illustration of a positive outcome from some of the aviation archaeological activities recently maligned and questioned in another thread on this forum!!!
Not a trained archaeologist in sight and we managed to recover, record, catalogue and identify it all by ourselves. We should have got a Boy Scout “Archaeologist” badge for that!
Thanks for the image T1940
If I didn’t know you better I would say you were trying to make a point 🙂
