engines?…. So far modded kestrels seem the best option. But that’s to worry about alot later on. I need two million quid and a hangar first….:D This is LONG term!…….
Why not apply to the National Lottery, as their most recent “aviation” project is due to fly some time this year, a hangar may be free as well 😉
Can I have 622 and 6 EFTS (or are we only talking operational squadrons?) ATB
TT
Will PM for dosh puntage…
Sorry Ben, I’ve only drawn up a list of operational Squadrons, and not sub units.
Ian
617’s mine now!
Are you stalking me ????
These have gone 19, 30, 56, 57, 74, 90, 98, 111, 222, 242, 308, 310, 315, 401, 410, 467, 550, 605
330, 331, 332, and 333 have gone as well.
The sheets have been set up, and there are/were a total of 550 RAF Units up for grabs.
These have been sold/reserved already :-
2, 6, 14, 16, 17, 20, 31, 41, 54 37, 61, 97, 234, 514 and 609.
At the Red Lion last year we had some great items, including the cockpit hood from a Spitfire kindly donated by TFC, a book signed by Wing Co Ken Mackenzie, a Bottle of 12 Yr Old Single Malt and many other items.
We hope to have another piece of Spitfire this year, several models, books (some signed), and the usual bottle of single malt (Maybe a 20 yr old). I will publish a more detailed list next week prior to the show.
If you would like a go and aren’t attending drop me a PM and I will let you have details of where to send the dosh.
Yep you are right, could one of the mods amend ?????
Selling Off the RAF
A minor update :-
Instead of doing a “normal raffle” at Legends I propose to sell off the RAF. Over the next few days, I’ll draw up a list of all the Squadron numbers used in the past 100 years, and offer them for sale at £1.00 each. We could potentially raise some where in the region of £600.00 from this to go to this years worthy cause.
The Chinese T’ Shirts have finally arrived.:D
Several Whirlwinds came down around the Channel Islands, these have been discussed several times on here and I doubt there is little left of them, they’re war graves in any case.
One of Steve Vizard’s Peregrines is with Rolls Royce at Derby.
Good luck with the the project and research LL, if I can help in anyway please let me know.
I would but can’t find your email. Could you PM me it please.
Since I have no particular interest in having gay US soldiers shoving stuff up me ****, I therefore regret I’m not going to be seen around here for the foreseeable future.
I know I’ve had issues with the moderation on the forum before now, I never realised it had got this bad. 😀
Hopefully they’ll do us a favour and remove this thread before it’s too late.

I know I’m in a minority now, but for me, it is still one of those shows which is always on the ‘must go one day’ list… What doesn’t help is when you ask how good it really is, most people reply in the negative or with seeming disinterest…….:(
Don’t be put off by the negativity, it’s a great show and the best of it’s kind in Europe. For an idea of content I refer you to a previous thread with a slight amendment :-
Stop Press announcement:
Quite a few Spitfires,
Some Hurricanes,
Some Mustangs,
Something from RNHF,
A Lancaster,
Corsairs,
Skyraiders,
At least a B17,The odd B25,
A Nimrod or 2,
Three flying advertising hoardings with three young, lycra clad, ladies strapped to the top wings,
A certain pointy thing with flames coming out of the rear, if they can keep it operational for long enough. Some other rare aircraft that the punters won’t recognise
… and a rumour about a P-38, anyone else heard about that? And a bloody big flypast at the end.
That should cover it I reckon 😉
But they’ve left an engine out, and part of the nose appears to be missing:)
