I tend to agree with HP57, the money that would be spent getting another Vulcan runnable would be better spent on other projects with a lot more significance to aviation history.

But there again this is a hypothetical question in any case.

    Thanks DJJ

You could be right, and I will look into it. It has also been mentioned he could have been awarded the Air Medal in Korea.

Thats why i am asking you all to help me. So who owns/operates G-HURI now?

As Glenn mentioned way down this thread, G-HURI is now owned and operated by the Historic Aircraft Collection.

Is my list wrong? If so whats wrong with G-HURI.

On the list it’s listed as still belonging to TFC, and being in Eagle Sqn markings.

A bit of advice Ollie if you can’t verify a piece of information from several sources, put it to one side until such time as you can. Do not release in anyway or form something unless you are not confident is correct.

    What no Jaguars ???

That brings back memories, I was there in the late 70’s, 79 I think, with the ATC on summer camp. I have some very grainy shots taken with a 110 pocket camera of Jaguars and decoy Lightnings.

How do i go about getting acsess to them?
You say they hold the majority of them, who holds the others?

You contact the RAF Museum and ask, when I say the majority, some Form 78’s have gone missing over the years.

If you know the aircraft serial number and write, they will copy the relevant form for you. But this can cost.

Also where can i go to see aircraft movement cards?

RAF Museum holds the majority of RAF Form 78.

The Canadians have a similar system, copies of which I have obtained in the past from their archives.

Hawker Hurricane MkIIB N68RW – a collection of Hurricane components are being combined to construct an airworthy Hurricane by the Lone Star Flight Museum & Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, Galveston Island, Galveston, Texas. The group took over the components from Leonard Tanner in 1991 and the plane is being restored to airworthiness in Fort Collins, Colorado.

    OK

I am not as on the ball as I used to be. Can someone who knows more than me, (Ollie?) explain how Surrey crept into the title of this thread?

I have been on the ‘phone all day to contacts in that area. They in turn have been investigating the chance that there is a new Fury in Surrey.

I do hope we haven’t spent a whole day searching the wrong county have we?

It must have been a taxing day for you, I sympathise with you.

Try reading the link to the website you’ve posted, rather than posting for the hell of it.
