Had a go at the demo on the PS3 last week. A valiant effort, but I doubt I’ll part with the cash (maybe later when it’s come down in price by a fair margin), just not quite right for me.
Shame they never got round to the BoB version of the PC sim.
Interesting. Any particular cons of the game?
Both cases are interesting and I’ll be looking into them. Thank you very much.
More suggestions appreciated.
Compare with this photo of No. 257 Sqn (w/Bob Stanford-Tuck) at Coltishall.

Thanks Martin,
We did something special in the Middle East today including a flypast, but nothing on the scale of the Reds.
Glad to be of service. Now I have also posted a photo gallery from the London flypast:

Since the press interest for the fate of Bentley Priory has been rather shallow, here’s my humble contribution. I’ll try to involve other blogs on the web, too.

It stands for Wired Throughout – an indication that the panels are electrically bonded.
That’s funny, I’ve repeatedly heard the explanation W/T = Wireless Telegraphy – which admittedly doesn’t make sense for the depicted locations…
(Good to see my photo posted like this 🙂
I recall reading that “lamp black” (As “Lindy’s Lad” suggests…simply another word for matt paint?) would cut the speed of an aircraft by a significant amount.
Therefore, it was not too popular. True?
It also turned out to be less than perfect for concealment of aircraft at night. Later in the war, most night camouflages (Luftwaffe, Mosquito) were based on grey rather than black. BTW, it would be interesting to know why Bomber Command didn’t depart from black.
Ooops, I forgot I had that one online, too 😮 Sorry.

I’ve seen the other photo you mention and agree that more than one colour was used.
One of these photos should be this. By comparison with the roundel colours I’d say that the numbers look like white.

I have received infromation that the Bader collection is to be auctioned as one entire collection and not as individual items so as to maintain to integrity of the collection. However, checking the lots list again today I noticed that Bader’s unique Alvis car (and probably the most attractive item of the collection) has been withdrawn from the sale.
No explanation is given why. Any ideas?
Hey, Luftwaffe fans, what about this Hurricane in Luftwaffe markings… Any guess which Erprobungstelle it was tested?:)
Is this photo real? The aircraft looks suspiciously like a model, especially the canopy and the canopy rail remind me of an… Airfix Hurricane. Plus that dull “Humbrol” finish.
Just curious…

The second picture had been taken is in Africa, hadn’t it? In such case it is not very “early”. Despite this the photo is interesting.
Another movie mistake is that 747’s etc always have tunnels from the undercarriage bays to the passenger cabin!
Absolutely! Most recently, Air Force One has such a secret connecting passage in “Transformers”.
Not trying to be picky at all, but somebody pointed out that she still has a Mk. V – style oil cooler fairing. Was there any particular reason for not backdating this item to Mk. I standard?
