    How sad for everyone! It seems like the NIMBY menace has destroyed two good projects which would have made good use of the site, delivered benefits to the local and wider community, and preserved elements of its heritage. On what grounds did the whingers object?

    Two warbirds at a distance from Cliffe, Kent, looked to be P40s or a P40 and something else? May have been TFC’s later model one at the back of the formation. Anyone else see these?

    Hmm, I think they swapped the P-47 with AR213

    I really hope so! Be great if AR213 stays in the UK, and at Duxford. I had the poster on my wall when I was a kid. bit of a British airshow icon for many of us, that aircraft.

    It just doesn’t capture the imagination as much. I definitely prefer aircraft displayed complete, you can imagine them, in wartime and waiting for a mission, living history, while cut open to display the structure it becomes no more than a dry technical exhibit!

    I think both should exist, lots of people are fascinated by the technical side, but I would always prefer a complete exhibit myself. It should at least appear complete from one side or other. Otherwise it just isn’t representative of what the aircraft really was.

    Sad that SNAFU may be leaving, never got to see her. As “fans” of TFC I can’t see what is wrong with expressing disappointment at the decision.

    On the lineup list for the September show, isn’t a Spitfire Mk1 listed as coming from TFC? Have they owned this for long? IF (and I am wildly speculating, if this violates the rules please delete!) she is staying in the UK as a result of SNAFU’s departure, I tend to lean toward “Good Call TFC” personally, really quite keen for AR213 to stay in the UK, it’s a bit of an icon, is it not?
