Corr, that Vampire really does look special 😎 a credit to the team who have worked on her.

Why does this remind me of the Tighar recovery of “The maid of Harlech”?

You could always ask the chap with the Shack’ at Long Marston.
Failing that, according to Wiki there’s a few in Cyprus.

My Grandad trained as a wireless operator on Oxfords at RAF Shawbury 🙂
He was also briefly involved with clandestine op’s on Lysanders before being shipped out to India.

My concern is with the aircraft, it’s pretty obvious who’s aircraft this is, and where it is.
While I don’t necessarily agree or disagree with them doing this, it’s good to see some great low flying footage of a classic 😎
I went to school with Christine 😀
The whole situation at Elvington is dire IMO. The Village (Elvington) seems to be infected with busy bodies who do their utmost to get all events at the airfield banned on the grounds of noise pollution.
Their ring leader, Ian Bailey, is an extremely petty man.
It badly needs its annual airshow back.
I’d love to volunteer at Elvington (i only live 5 mins down the road), but I have little free time and I’m not interested in wasting it getting involved in others personal politics / agendas.
I expect I shouldn’t be asking this question in Historic, but what is the deal with the tail rotor on the Apache? Doesn’t even look like it should be balanced!
Noise cancellation iirc.
Incredible stuff 🙂
Blackburn Firebrand?
Those 80 aircraft might go the Shornet or F16 way! remember it is Congress!
My bet would be either F16 or Gripen.
Well done Rafale, and welcome to the club 🙂
As Europeans, we make three of the finest combat jets in the world, and now they’re all sales successes too 🙂
