Nothing against my French colleagues, but I think the French built some of the ugliest aircraft!

Give me a moment and I will find some………………….

The Delta Mirages are some of the best looking jet aircraft IMO, but the Rafale is very ugly, and looks dated (the canopy looks 40 years old on the single seater, and 60 years old on the twin!)

That is correct. No new commitments as from now and all aid ends in 2015 saving £200 million. I agree with others here that the whole foreign aid budget should be reviewed, to make sure that the aid can be justified and that if so it goes to where it is needed and not into the pockets of pseudo-democratic rulers.

While we’re in debt, any foreign aid is unacceptable. Instead of borrowing the money to give to other countries, we should be using our diplomatic ties to be encouraging others to give.it summarises the current mess we are in, spending what we don’t have.

But, in my opinion governments have no business giving our money away. People should be encouraged to give to worthy causes, but not being given a choice is sickening.

I take it you have evidence to substantiate your claim then?

No, I responded to what I consider a point of view with my own.

Believe it or not the vast majority of people on benefits need them

without some evidence to substantiate that claim, I won’t believe it.

There are obviously plenty of people who need help, but there are many claiming that have no reason to claim.

What people don’t seem to understand is that we are spending beyond our means. The definition of disabled needs reconsidering – there are plenty claiming benefits that could perform a huge variety of jobs, no one should be given a free ride.

I’m not having a dig at your parents. By the sounds of it, they worked and contributed to the system, and now they’re receiving the help they deserve. That is how it should work, and I wish them the best of health. 🙂

My Other half has just bought me a lovely Seiko Kinetic watch, as they’re heavily discounted on Amazon (upto 79% off!)

Will make lovely daily watch for the foreseeable future 🙂

I built a Westland Lynx with my dad when I was around 7, but the first model I built on my own was an Airfix Spitfire VB in 1/72 scale.

There are civilian pilots current on the Lancaster ?

In Canada there is. Also, I’m sure the BBMF would be able to assist in some way.

Nonsense. I doubt, in the scheme of things, it would cost a single vote. And in any case, it would most likely be the RAF’s decision if it would be grounded, not the Government’s.

It would cost my vote. And dare I say have an impact on various users of this very site. I can’t imagine many in the RAF wanting to ground it either. Given the recent gestures towards bomber command, I can’t see PA474 being grounded for the foreseeable.
