Thats because I was hiding….
I have it on good authority that the new version is about to be published. That said, the secretary is more than willing to respond to direct requests for a copy.
Follow the instructions on the BAPC website and contact the secretary…..
Thay have access to the old Bardolph range which covers stuff like breakloose tools, aircraft specific tools… pretty good! Best bet is to speak to your local rep though rather than the central stores….
almost a shame that Elvington didn’t get XV321 when they already have XL321…….
edit: thank you, you bunch of b******s who kindly pointed out that I have no numeracy skills…. see below… 😀
We get ours from Cromwell- they are not in the catalogue, but the reps can get hold of just about anything..
If its proper northern, its closer to Dutch. Anyway, aahm off doon tha bank on me bogie. lyk. and that. ye knaa.
Good that the Lincoln is getting attention.
are the volunteers who built it in a position to purchase it outright? A home could be found VERY easilly……
Surely that would be a little ambitious?….
Just acquired a copy of the book, so thanks for the tip John…. and its not bad at all. Certainly good for the fwd fuselage. Any idea on the details of the wings structure?
MODS, Do you want to transfer this little lot into the Forum Virtual Art Galery thread?
Perhaps I was merely questioning the general principle of ‘there’s a cheap aircraft, grab it’ which has prevailed within the country as a whole. How many Vulcans were purchased with special tools (fly-away packs), spare tyres, spare brakes, even towbars! I speak with the experience of a time served aircraft engineer, military and civil, well used to looking after large aircraft outside. Remember that they are looking after an aircraft which is to remain 100% servicable, not some pile of corroding aluminium in a shed. The support required is enormous as the Lindy / Tina crews will testify!
When I use the term ‘museum’, I mean it to relect a museum, not the private groups.
I am assured by other sources that a tow bar arrived with the jet and a Houchin is on its way. The aircraft is fully servicable and in pristine condition (even new tyres) and a reconditioned fire protection system. Lindy’s crew are looking after it while a team from Kinloss remove a few bits, and no doubt the museum will contribute as much as it is able. Generally speaking, she has a good home.
……I am sure they will either already have a certain amount of ground equipment or it is most certainly in the pipeline.
John.
I certainly hope so. Andre has a huge amount of specialist gear for the Victor, and I just hope that YAM have the forethought to purchase the specialist kit for the ‘rod before it gets thrown out.
So has the ground support equipment been purchased too? Towing arm, suitable houchin, special tools, jacking pads and adaptors, etc?
Hmm a better image than the one I used… I need to complete the back end of the painting – while the colours are ok, the lettering sucks….
‘Bag Interior’, by the airsick hedgehog society………:D
It would be a challenge…. hmm… a view looking at 45* including the wing surface…
