    Mark.

A truly awesome display by ML407 in the hands of Pete Kinsey.
Thank you, that display will take a lot of beating.

According to SKY news today, Cameron stated he, Murray, will be Knighted, by her Maj.

    Told ya !!!!
    jim.
    Lincoln .7

    Why?
All he was doing was playing tennis. He doesn’t have to go to work to support a family or pay the bills like sportsmen (oops sorry, and sportswomen) from the non pc non dumbed down society. Still, I’m probably in the minority. Sir Andy Murray,,,, I hope not. He did well, I’m proud of him, but a knighthood – NO

Dead excited 😀 going to Legends for the first time since the only time I went in 2007 (i think) , in fact that’s the last time I went to Duxford, it’ll also be my partner’s first time at Duxford, he’s pretty excited too 😀 as for annoying commentators, I’m not sure anyone can be more annoying then Shoreham Airshow’s Mr has to mention his career as a Concorde pilot during every single display and everything is “such a joy to fly” ¬.¬

Yes,,,, and Bandits at 12 o’clock Tallo Ho,,,,,,,,,

Sorry I can’t join the anti- Chabbert brigade – actually he’s part of Legends furniture!!;)

No he isn’t, it only feels like he’s been here for ever. Gerry Mead, if I spelt that wrong I’m very sorry. He knew when to talk, to keep quiet, he was well liked and knew his stuff. I’m sorry but this bloke is just irritating beyond belief. Just my humble opinion, and lots of others too!!!

He and his families work is far more deserving of knighthoods than any sportstar IMHO. Thoughts and prayers with family and friends.

    Couldn’t have put it better.
    God bless you Fred Panton.

I can’t recommend this book highly enough, I know Joe personally and I guess I’m continuing Joes work by working on ML407. If you want a good read, if you want to read about the men, a man who kept the few flying- buy Joes book. Well done Joe and thank you.

Well, I tried in god knows how many stores to get the Mk XII spitfire for my son, funny thing is, it’s not in production anymore, yet it’s still advertised. I love airfix and hornby but – get there acts together and sort it out. But I guess it’s the British way, profit first quality last sod the customer then blame the customer —
Britains finished I’m sad to say.

Is it Muslims? Wouldn’t surprise me if the EDL do it to stur up more hatred.

Do you really think the English defence league would do this? Deface a memorial to 55537 members of bomber command who gave there lives for this country?
I don’t think so. I know you don’t say this, but I’m getting pretty Sick of people spouting off about how we can’t say this group did this that or the other but it’s ok to blame BNP EDL UKIP or who ever. For gods same Britain get some bloody back bone!!! How come that bearded jock can put posters up and get away with? I’ll tell you why, because we’re bloody spineless.

just carry out a run out check on the prop shaft as described in TSD 292, Merlin maint manual. If all within limits, new prop n off you go..Obviously if its a great rate of knots, its game over..

RPM gauge on the Spitfire is propellor RPM, not engine RPM.

Engine power is set with reference to the boost gauge, you can set a constant power and make the RPM gauge move by moving the propellor lever.

(Edited to add that this is a pilot’s (and a trainee Spitfire pilot’s at that) and not an engineers view…comments below have prompted me to return to my manual and deepen my understanding;))

Its engine RPM – 0 boost at 2150 Engine RPM. Max engine RPM, 3000 RPM. TSD 292
