I love all this stuff you’re posting. It’s enlivening my week off decorating!
If it’s so offensive why are you digging for it and then alerting others with a thread devoted to it?
Lovely – thanks very much
Sorry – I mean’t to say interior shots. Thanks anyway
There’s supposed to be a Lanc and a B17 in Pegwell Bay, Thanet.
The Spitfire and Hurricane memorial building had one of the Lanc’s Propeller tips on display which someone had sawn off from a boat at low tide.
When I moved to Biggin the estate agent never mentioned there was an airfield round the corner.
Should I sue them?
They’ve probably closed down now anyway…
some brat who sneered “so what, its only a plane”.
A podgy brat at Duxford at the weekend was overheard saying in the Airspace hangar “I don’t like Lancasters”..
He should be damn grateful for their existence.
The clip is taken from ‘The Doc Furniss war” available from the 92nd Bombardment Group Memorial association.
Great stuff for Pod freaks like me.
I got my copy from East Anglia books
A233. Main Road, Biggin Hill. Just south of the Fox and Hounds.
Ah yes, down by the houses with the BIG hedges
Get yourself into Cranfield and good luck 🙂
which road is that Tony?
I hadn’t realised that fuel **** (my last post refers!) was a rude word. OK…fuel C.O.C.K then!!!!
What nob censored that?
How is quoting a piece of someone’s post ‘ignoring’ it?
Lets do a poll on how many people went to RIAT or farnborough to see 558!
:
I rearranged our publishing schedule at work to make damn sure I was there on the Wednesday – specifically to see XH558 fly. Cry is what you do when you do see it fly rather than the other way around. I confess to a rather moist eye as she spooled up for take off.
Wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
I prefer artists like Chadwick, Mitchell, Camm. Far more stirring and evocative.
