Stab III/JG3 Bf 109E-4 w/n 5146 Oberfeldwebel Trebing killed.
BoBT&N (1980) records an investigation by the Brenzett Group so parts may be on display somewhere.

Thanks for this – my great aunt says it happened on a Saturday (Aug 31st)?
Is there a matching incident for this date?
Are you sure this is the Ann St. one?
cheers
Zwit
Thanks again chaps – the hunt continues… 😀
Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I just noticed a stamped number on the reverse side of the data plate shown above:
30064/325
or maybe it’s ‘30064 325’ (the slash could be a mere scratch)
Does this offer any further clues as to identity of the aircraft?
paging Mark12 as ever… 😀
New scheme for MK356?
That would be nice – it’s about time we had another silver spit on the ‘circuit’ since RN201 went west and TD248 went all drab on us.
I loved TD248’s silver racing scheme. The ultimate sports car…
What a beauty – always wanted to see it back in the air
Don’t just stand there, get one up!
I don’t know what to type… words fail me except:
THANK YOU to all at TVOC
Amazing stuff.
How would it have ended up with two different CBAF numbers? Perhaps a wing swap from another A/C?
Chaps and Chapeses,
I wonder if any of you kind people out there can help. For my own personal use (screensaver), I would like a high res. image (1280 x 1024 px) of the Spirit of Kent from a specific angle. Similar to the shot below, but taken of TA805’s port side, showing the nose art. Would anybody have such a shot already, that they would be willing to share with me?

Thanks in advance,

I suggest this as an alternative:

I suggest this as an alternative:

Paul Bonhomme in MH434 and Alistair Kay in Ferocious Frankie.
Nice display, the people around me were certainly interested. The German blokes behind me were videoing it and getting quite excited.
Two of my very favourite things at once – the Pod and MH434, it doesn’t get much better than that in my little world…

Great news I was wondering what was going on with the Broncos.
Come on Duxford let’s have a Vietnam era show.
The Bronco (when its done), Spads, Huey’s (well two anyway), A-26, Bearcat, Corsairs, Jungie Sea King to play the Jolly Green part and what have you. The light aircraft people could provide the O-2 and O-1.
Oh, yes and the rollout of the restored Thud.;)
Get the Luftwaffe to bring some Phantoms!
I had one in a small circular tin. It contained a cloth which left a film over the lens – transparent film which did not mist up when you breathe on it. Mine was Army issue. Whats in that one?
This one has the cloth under one cap and the special gunge the other end. I haven’t tried it yet!
Thanks eveyone for yet more knowledge!
Hi Zwitter,
Looks a close match for this section of B.17 wing lying in the Channel at 20 mtr
Regards
Ross
That looks very much like a match – especially the curved edge of the joining plate. Nice work Ross!
I’ll find out where it came from when my neighbour comes back.
The part on the right is the magneto flange attached to part of the wheelcase. The position of the small steel screw next to the mounting lug means that this is a BTH C1SE-12S or C5SE-12S so if the aircraft is a Spitfire then it cannot in theory be later than a MkV, or a Seafire I, II or III
Incidentally, it is the port side mag 😉
Pete
Blimey Pete! I take it you know a bit about these then? 😉
Thanks
