Net Nerds – you get a few on every forum. Pay it no mind.
Good work Aflt.
My Friend in Selsey has just sent me the following 2 images. The 3 items were given to him by another local. They are NOT from the Spitfire site but another site in the area. They were found by some Polish workers last weekend who are digging drains.
My best guess is they are Luftwaffe but what Aircraft. How many more sites like this are in the area?
Any information would of course be more than welcome……
first pic is a German magneto selector – I think – deffo German anyway.
Thanks everyone for the help thus far and clarification of technical terms! Hopefully I’ll find someone who wants to part company with a definite spitfire cartridge…..N.Wotherspoon; I guess you want to keep your example?!?
I’ve got loads from a Biggin Hill crash site – not fired in the conventional sense but certainly ‘gone off’ post crash.
PM me an address and I’ll stick one in the post if that helps your quest.
Thanks for the schedule link
Sheila Scott – solo round the world flier:
Buy her incredible book for a penny:

But she is still wearing the paint she had whilst in service during WW2, that makes her a very rare and precious airframe. There a plenty of pretty, clean Spits about. Its like the tanks in the IWM, they look too clean and new, as modellers do, some patina makes them look more “real” and menacing. My daughter thought the Jagdpanther was pretty!
Correct me if wrong but underneath that OTU scheme should/may be the original BoB paint. I’d take a layer off and try to reveal it – much like the FAA corsair at Yeovilton with scuffs an all.
That would be truly original.
Much appreciated – thanks chaps

Could try that at Biggin on 12th November at the Kent Spitfire nightshoot.
Yes displays like this require a CAA exemption.
Dan Griffith was the pilot.

TA805 – Spirit of Kent doing a funeral flypast.
The gentleman in question asked for a Spitfire to display as his funeral procession paused on Madeira Drive.
Job done! i hope he had a fitting send off.
Thanks, that sounds about right. Do you have a full list of displays? Couldn’t find an up to date list on the web.
here you go
It was also scheduled for Damyns Hall. I don’t know if it did get there or not,
as we didn’t stay to the end. The weather ended up putting a dampener on
things.
Yes it made it there and departed just as the heavens opened!
Kent Spitfire did a display at a show at Ibsley at 15:45 – could have been your second one?
