in the ’80s (forget which year), as a very wide-eyed kid, spending all day with the OFMC at Rochester airshow – lovely shots of MH434, me with Ray and Mark Hanna, clicked away all day…
no film in the camera!
B17
thanks 🙂
what he doesnt know is that he is going for a flight the look on his face should be interesting.
would you please keep us posted when it happens – that’s a lovely thing to do 🙂
Aircraft – singular or plural?
4,026 Cessna 150’s in close formation make a lot of noise.
Mark
I was thinking singular – but whatever you like, as long as it’s loud!!!
If North Weald was built on, where would all the cool stuff based there go?
Biggin perhaps?
And the last Vulcan lost (XL390) was during an air display routine 🙁
spitfires have been lost during air displays – shall we ground them?
but what if it went down performing a routine or in transit?
If we all thought “what if” all the time, we’d be too scared to leave the house.
Flying is safe – don’t be afraid! 😉
woo hoo – I own a vulcan now then!!!! 😀
Does that mean I can paint it any colour I like? 😉
I’m off to Chicago to see and photograph the example there in April, I’ll post some pics up here.
I’ve also got some pictures of the example displayed at Speyer (substantial recovered wreckage) which I’ll scan in and post here later this evening, if anyone’s interested.
I have a pic of that one at home – it’s in good condition but has a bit of a hole in the underside – like combat damage. Shame it and the Spit are hanging up, but al in all a very good museum! 😀
This bloke’s not called Goring by any chance is he?
Went again yesterday for the umpteen millionth time – enjoyed it as much as ever, always something new to see, i.e. concorde/vulcan outside, new mossie colours, TSR2 ‘naked’! Alain de Cadanet’s MkXVI spit, a chippy doing aerobatics when the sun came out…
I didn’t feel short changed at all.
Sure Hangar1 was empty – but it’s a temporary situation and the work will result in something truly spectacular…
More power to you Duxford – you can have my £12 any time 🙂
ps… I’d go just for the smell in the TFC hangar! 😉
looking at all these pictures made me think – blimey we used to have an interesting air force!
or do I mean “we used to have an air force?” 😀
phantoms, buccs, lightnings I miss you!
I’ve got a nice big bit of Victor XL511’s Pressurisation + anti icing instrument panel at home – found out it’s a falklands vet too – must find a good home for it one day – what do we reckon its worth?
“I’ll hit the brakes and he’ll fly right by” 😀
Red Bull = money = flying
To those on here who bitch about paint and spend their time counting rivets: stop whinging they’re not ‘our’ property… buy your own sea vixen or P38 and paint it any way YOU choose 😉
