The shape is inspired on the .50 because it was know these were already travelling into the sound barrier without any problem. Artillery guys were already doing faster than sound in the XIX century if I’m not mistaken.

PS: I just resized and rotate it keeping aspect ratio.

Not far out really is it:)

    Well an unlikely possibility then!.
However close to where I live in hopwood reservoir south of Birmingham, rumour has it a “twin engined aircraft” is in there.
A chap who used to scuba dive did say there is one as he has seen it whilst diving.
I do know of 2 Wellingtons and an HE111 nearby as ground crashes so they are ruled out.
    Interweb has drew a blank…

Apart from the emergency fire tank to the north west, there is 2,1 to the west and oblong shape and a squarish one to the east. Google maps has not got the clarity but if you switch to terrain mode, they appear.

Rang RAF Lyneham and got a slightly bemused person at the MOD in London. Weren’t sure how I’d got their number! Anyhow, planned timing is depart Lyneham 0730, about 1 hr later at Bristol, another hr later at Gloucester, and around 1 hr later in north Worcs.
Also said due to move at steady 40mph on motorway, and to speak to local constablary. Many thanks for your help

    Job done:)

Thanks Ade, know the area, so will have a look. Is there anywhere that lists times of movements like this on the roads? not had much luck finding times for next Sunday

Unfortunately not that I know of.
I don,t know wether it would be possible to phone Lyneham directly?

Anyone know whether next Sunday will see another body on the move, and what time it will be passing Bromsgrove on the M5 in North Worcestershire. I’ve just started taking an interest in aircraft and have a new camera to try out

The best vantage point would be the motorway bridge on Fockbury lane off Perryfields road,if you know the area.
