What seat would be fitted to the Meteor F8.

Normally it would be a Mk2E but the Martin Baker Meteors have been fitted with more modern seats. Might be Mk12s looking at photos but it’s difficult to tell from just a bit of the head box.

As well as lots of Police we have the largest Police Station in Europe.

Recently a shop was under attack, sort of mini riot, and the shop front was being pushed in.

Guess what. The largest Police station in Europe was about 100 yards away but couldn’t produce a policeman, we had to dial 999.

    Hi Twin Otter

According to the same source as my previous post, it appears that the Air Historical Branch (AHB) captured aircraft spent time at Fulbeck from 1958 onwards before being transferred to Biggin Hill. This included the He111H-20, Bf109G-2/trop “Black 6” Fw190F-8/U1, Ju87D-5 and Fiat CR42 currently on display at the RAF Museum and the Me410A-1 and Fi156C-7 on display at Cosford.

I used to wander round the hangar at Biggin Hill that was used to store the AHB aircraft. The Bf109 was an E version. I took lots of photos but they’ve long since been lost. I might have one of the He111 outside at an air display but no idea where that is beyond it’s here somewhere. The Stuka definitely wasn’t there because I remember being aggrieved about it and I don’t recall the Storch. The Me110 now at Hendon was there though and a V2. All the guns were stored in the station armoury.

I wanted to bid but its gone wayyyyy above my kind of money

    Item 1 Airspeed indicator

    Item 2 bank indicator

    Why?

So how do you work out the insurance value of a collection when there’s this sort of thing going on?

I paid about £50 for one of those inclinometers r one very similar of the same vintage on evilbay a few months ago.

when did you last see a Copper WALKING around his Beat?.

    Jim.

I live in South East London. We see police on foot (in pairs), on horseback, on push bikes, on those three wheeled scooter things, in cars marked and unmarked, vans, minibuses, coaches, armoured things and helicopters. They range from coppers with pointy helmets to the full paramilitary rig with assault rifles. And the last were walking the street.

    BLOWN UP !

As far as I’m aware all the remaining TSR2 items on Foulness and Pendine were scrapped by Hanningfield Metals and they shredded the lot. They refused point blank to let anyone have any bits which to me points to an order from MoD. Hanningfields were normally very helpful to museums and collectors.

There was a rumour that when the contents of Quedgely were sold that the parts to make a complete TSR2 were bought by a very wealthy collector

More like an industrial boiler flue, or air extract duct. ?

    Could be all three.

A while ago, a long while ago, ne EU regulations on fumes were brought in that required higher chimneys. Steve at Hanningfield Metals was doing a roaring trade in Canberra jet pipes because they were cheaper than steel flues and lasted longer

eBay don’t sell anything at all except for advertising space. If ebay weren’t there, there would be something else similar, I am sure.

OK they aren’t selling. But they are facilitating selling and taking commission. If fraud- and that is what it is- is being committed by sellers on a regular basis and ebay choose to continue to permit the sellers to use ebay even though they have been informed that fraud is taking place then the commission becomes a proceed of crime.

When ebay were threatened with legal action by some very heavy lawyers representing major brand names they caved in.

I would almost do anything for that Beech 18 fuselage, but as has already been said…that’s an ambitious price. A shame the wings appear to have been hacked off.

    You want an ambitious price?

I would love to have an indicator unit from AI Mk 10 (SCR720)

As with many of the other items on here, I might have them but I need a photo or good drawing before I start burrowing in boxes to see if what I have is the same or just similar.

That Youtube clip posted by Oldspitty is exactly as it is done. If you were making frames for an airworthy project the metal would need heat treating following the shaping process but for a static build it could be left in the soft state.
The wooden forming blocks that each frame is formed around will obviously need to be different for each frame required but with modern CAD and laser technology this is less of an issue than it was.

    Richard

Biggest issue is finding affordable accurate drawings
