The centre section from DP872 has been on the yellow stand for many years, the ‘other’ centre section is from an unknown aircraft. The next open day is on Sunday 24th July from 1200 to 1600
The Fleet Air Arm Museum preserved Humphrey, a Wessex HAS.3, after its exploits in the Falklands.
One of their Westland Wasps may also have some history from the conflict.
Wasp XS527 has 2 claims to fame, the first production Wasp and it was involved with Humphrey in the Santa Fe action in South Georgia, its currently on display in the museum while Humph

The one from Flambards is the spare example outside Cobham Hall, mentioned in the thread above
Will, the potential restoration project is in N. America
I will see what I can find out, the AEW Skyraider is a fantastic looking aircraft, it would make a very distinctive flying ‘warbird’! Is there one on display at Yeovilton, or are they both in store?
I remember being very impressed by the example at Helston years ago, are there any plans for its future?
The type example is currently inside Cobham Hall and the one you saw at Helston is in external storage and not assembled, sadly it was damaged when on loan to 849NAS at Culdrose and then returned unrepaired to FAAM. At the moment this particular airframe is held as a spare example.
Will, would be interested if it was surplus to requirements

Sorry, forgot to mention the 3 Shars, no idea if they have yet got buyers but they are currently stored outside on Z hardstand, by the water tower. They went back to the hangar for a few days but have since been put back outside.

899NAS are having a dinner on March 23rd for previous squadron members at Yeovilton, they are trying to get 700 people to attend, the aim is to raise money for local charities as a reminder of the squadron. There will be several aircraft that have served with the unit on show, such as the Seafire and Sea Vixen from the FAAM.
Off to Yeovilton to shoot some Shars on departure and a trip round the museum, have a fun time stewart.
Better be early, the first ones leave at 0700 and the last at 0800
Ian is spot on with his comment about the public sector, its exactly the same in our museum here ‘down south’

Will there ever be another open day at the museum?
As for the Shar, I remember the day when it had its accident, are you painting it to look like a FRS1?, or are you deconverting it from a F/A2 to a FRS1?
Anyone know what has happened to XZ439?
My last record of it was at St Athan in storage in December 04
Tim
In reply to your question about ZA195, it came as part of the deal with XZ499, both aircraft had donated items to the active fleet, it was decided as XZ499 had a combat history that should be the one to be preserved as the type example. As for ZA195 going to a certain location in Suffolk, I have no knowledge of that, I am trying to get our Curator of Aircraft(the Corsair King) to join the forum. At least then he could exchange thoughts with a certain gentleman who keeps an aircraft in a hangar next to the A303 up the road from VL. He is the person who could answer many of the questions about the aircraft at FAAM that crop up from time to time on the forum.
Don’t forget that the first Shar 2 to be preserved is currently in Cobham Hall at Yeovilton and will be well looked after
Thanks to Septic for the kind words about FAAM and the great pictures, until Easter we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays(half term excepted) but open the other 5 days from 1000 until 1630. From Easter until the end of October we will be open 7 days a week from 1000 to 1730. On February 12th we hold what has now become one of the largest one day model shows in the SW of England, a great day out for everyone(other than photographers who should heed the advice above).
End of commercial
