    Thanks for the Tips, In future I wont bother with the name I dont think.

    No I didnt use a teleconverter. cant be bothered with one as Im just trying to spend a year getting used to manual settings before I can afford to go DSLR.

    However it is true that by shooting in RAW you have more options (exposure, tone curve, white balance, etc.) to correct the picture in postprocessing than you would have if you were shooting JPEG’s only.

    Unless you use Adobe Lightroom

    Hi all have been folowing this thread for a while and am starting to look (save up) for a DSLR. Now I was thinking of going for the Canon EOS 400D, but then I saw the Sony A100 which is around the same price but you can get it with a 18-70 and a 75-300mm lenses.

    Does any one have some experiance of this or should I just aim for the Canon?

    Oh dear next time house work should wait no matter what ;), Im actually quite pleased with some of them especialy as today was the first time I took my camera off auto mode.

    Wow thanks for all your help, one last question though I also have a skylight filter which was bought for me as a present, could I use them both at the same time or is that pointless or is one better than the other?

    It only cost me 3 quid on ebay so even if its crap its no biggy, thanks for your answers im guessing the rule of thumb is nice bright day use it, dull day dont. is that about right?
