I always thought the Hellcat as opposed to the P51 had the most effect against the Japanese.

Presumably the poster wanted a procession of ‘Nice shots 🙂 ‘ replies and didn’t get them?

    Moggy

Not at all Moggy, I removed them as they didnt ‘move’ anyone to comment at all, good or bad, Im no expert at photography but some guidance as to why there was 290 views and no ‘good shot ;)’ comments would have been helpfull.

I assume you can aurally tell the difference

I would say in the air the Centaurus is very smooth sounding in comparison, on the ground its a different mater and sounds like a 1930’s Russian lawnmower 😀

The other one was powered by a Wright R3350.

Thats some stunning work they have carried out in a short space of time (restoration wise). I do understand the differences between the two now, I just read the term new build and added 2 and 2 and got 5 .

FB.26 KA114 – Airworthy new build fuselage/wings incorporating many original parts, nearing completion in New Zealand for Jerry Yagen by Avspecs/Glyn Powell.

T43 NZ2308 – Airworthy new build fuselage/wings incorporating many original parts, underway in New Zealand by Glyn Powell.

My mistake then , just to me that reads like a majority of the airframe will be newly built.

What a loss to the Airshow scene

Couldn’t agree more, all the more sad considering (I think) it was going to join the BBMF at the end of that season.

I would give my left boll..erm leg to see a mossie over UK skies again. With the 2 New builds in NZ (ok they incorporate historical parts) do you think we are becoming more accepting of them, You just have to look at the reaction the ‘late production model’ 190 got at legends to see everyone was pleased to see it and there was no it isn’t a genuine 190 so it shouldn’t be here mentality.

Thursday was a cracking day last year with almost constant movements and the bulk of the arrivals.
