I am an ex smoker since I was given my first cigarette at the age of 7 I gave up in Feb 2012 with the help of E-Cigarettes.
I don’t cough any more,my clothes don’t stink and my house and car does not have a yellow film on them. That said it took my until I was 67 to do that and god knows how many thousands of pounds to get this far.
I am not a “born again” ex smoker so its let and let live but not in my house please. I wish for any smoker who wants to break the habit the best of luck but it is an awful addiction to conquer.

Once upon a time you could shake hands on a deal and it was considered binding. Now you look at you fingers and see if your rings are still there!

trumper yes soldiers have a point of view which is possibly coloured by what they have seen or had to do that they would not wish on anyone. Most people would understand the stress, fear and the feeling that this might be their last day on this earth if they had. War is brutal and can also brutalise people which during times of extreme stress may manifest itself in many ways.
The Royal Marines in question as I mentioned before had lost 62 of their own. Why would they want to patch up someone if possible who would then go back to trying to kill them? The only mistake they made was having it filmed so the self righteous lefties sitting safely at home(because of them) can indulge themselves in a flurry of indignation. We in this country live in comparative security and we should thank them for it not try and bloody crucify them or would you prefer the United Kingdom to be like Afghanistan?

As per usual Kev has given a well thought out reply. So what constitutes a war? We are not at war with the Afghan people just a band of terrorists who would impose a repressive and brutal regime. My “war” was called “the troubles” and the Falklands a “conflict” Call it what you will people die and get injured in mind and body anyway. If they are civilians who die it is called “collateral damage” it does not sound so bad that way does it?
