Firing people is tough. I had to do that some 20 years ago(my wifes business)
All I got was abuse and threats of violence from the staff and their partners.(it was a hairdressers BTW) 15 years later my wife and I finished paying off the bank the money we owed them trying to keep them in a job. We should have pulled the plug earlier as we could have lived on my income.
That is not to say I don’t have a great deal of sympathy for those facing redundancy,I do but there are two sides to every coin.
If you are at a loose end for half an hour or so try this one done on a 419 scammer. I love it!

I would not be the least suprised if one of our subs was not cruising about in the South Atlantic as we speak.

They aint rally cars, this is http://www.topspeed.com/cars/ford/1986-ford-rs200-evolution-ar513.htm, and I`d give a b….k for one 🙂
All very nice but what did it win as a rally car apart for a reputation of killing people?

I wonder what Erik Carlsson, aka (“Carlsson on the roof”) thinks about all this.
I used to follow his exploits as a kid. Great Driver!

Nice find, some cracking stuff there and I have only got to page 6!
Thanks!
Sad and wrong, but I guess that is what happens if you loose the industry.
What will happen to the Brabazon hangars? Are they being used? Is Concorde currently stored there? Are they listed?
Would be great if they could use part of those hangars to display the Concorde and Bristol Aero Collection.
Listing means nothing. The main building (up by the link road) is covered in scaffolding and sheeting and looks very sad. I would not be the least suprised if it does not burn down one day. That seems to be the fate of a lot of listed buildings in the South West.
No idea what happens in the Braazon hanger perhaps some one could tell me.
Concorde sits out in all the elements and has done so since touch down. The Council have made proposals for a home for it but nothing ever happens here on any scheme. I cite rapid transport(trams) and improved transport links(Bristol-Portishead passenger rail) just a couple to start with.
The A38-Cribbs Causeway spur road opened last year and built by the developers of Charlton Hayes housing estate is very interesting. On each roundabout there is an exit built up to the airfield perimeter which extends 20 or so feet and stops. Funny that as there was no mention of closing the place and building house there when that was put in.
